It will be a battle between BigWst opponents when the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos (16-5, 5-2 BigWst) welcome the CSUN Matadors (10-13, 4-3 BigWst) to the Thunderdome. The game is scheduled to start at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.

CSUN Matadors vs. UC Santa Barbara Gauchos ATS Prediction

The Matadors come in on a high note after blowing out the Cal Poly Mustangs in their last contest, 83-65. The Matadors had a ridiculously low turnover percentage of 4.0 (better than their season average of 15.6) and had a free throw rate of 0.323 (above their season average of 0.203). With 22 points on 9-for-16 shooting, Lamine Diane was the top scorer from either team.

In the Gauchos’ last game, they dismantled the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, 75-54. The Gauchos made 17 of their 23 free throws (73.9 percent) and held the Rainbow Warriors to an offensive rebounding percentage of 21.9 (below their season average of 28.0). With 20 points and 11 rebounds, Amadou Sow put together a good game for UC Santa Barbara.

After the Gauchos won both contests against the Matadors last season, these teams will go head-to-head for the first time this year. In the last contest, UC Santa Barbara won 82-73. The Gauchos had a better free throw rate (0.170 vs. 0.097) and had a much better effective field goal percentage (0.689 vs. 0.540).

The productive offense of UC Santa Barbara (22nd in the country with an offensive efficiency of 114.4) will clash against the bottom-tier defense of CSUN (338th in the NCAA with a defensive efficiency of 111.7). The Gauchos should have the advantage on that side of the ball.
