Dayton Flyers – Richmond Spiders Preview – 03.11.2016

The Richmond Spiders square off against the No.1-seeded Dayton Flyers in the third round of the A10 tournament at the Barclays Center. The game starts at 12:00 pm ET on Friday, Mar. 11 and will air on NBS.

The Flyers edged VCU 68-67 in their last game. Scoochie Smith was the game’s high scorer with 29 points on 8-for-17 shooting. The Spiders, meanwhile, are coming off a 70-55 win over Fordham in the 2. Khwan Fore stood out, posting 10 points, five rebounds, and three steals.

Over the last five games, Smith has been playing at a high level for the Flyers. During that stretch, he has averaged 19.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 0.8 steals, and 2.0 three-pointers. T.J. Cline has also been on a tear in the same span, averaging 22.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.4 three-pointers while leading the Spiders.

This will be the second matchup of the season between these two teams. The Flyers won the first game 85-84. Smith was a top performer in the victory with 26 points, three rebounds, five assists, and two three-pointers.
