Cousins looks tonight to avenge the Kings loss to the Knicks on Sunday

DFS PF: DeMarcus Cousins Seeks Stability

DeMarcus Cousins leads a struggling power forward position that holds a lot of potential tonight. He is expected to lead the position in scoring. His 56.50 DraftKings points rest over 10 points ahead of second ranked Paul Millsap. Cousins has seen a lot of inconsistency over recent weeks, leaving owners wanting more affordable options. Fortunately, the High tier is filled with value as Paul Millsap, Kevin Love, and Julius Randle all appear to be strong options.

Anthony Davis was the big scorer in an important win for the Pelicans. Davis posted staggering numbers in three quarters of play before getting injured as he went into the crowd. He led all positions with 73.5 DraftKings points. His production was versatile as he finished with 40 points, 18 rebounds and 3 blocks. There will be concerns with his injury for the immediate future, but Davis ranked as the top overall option for last night’s thin slate of games.

Bobby Portis played well in short minutes against Oklahoma City. The Bulls failed to defend their home court in the loss. Portis found 10 minutes of action on the court where he was largely irrelevant. Shooting 3-7, he recorded 7 points in addition to his 2 rebounds. Overall volume continues to be an issue at the power forward position beyond the big names. His 3.83 value would usually go unnoticed, but last night it made him a strong punt option.

Domantas Sabonis offered varied production in limited minutes as the Thunder came away with a win in Chicago. Sabonis continues to be the starting power forward despite regular efforts similar to last night. He shot 1-5 from the field on his way to 5 points. He added some value on the glass with 5 rebounds, but the volume was lacking. It was a disappointing night for power forwards as his 3.82 value ranked as one of the better available marks.

Elite Tier Pick (+$8,500)

DeMarcus Cousins – $10100 – 56.496 Points

Standing as the top Elite option, DeMarcus Cousins has averaged 52.1 fantasy points a game. He and the Kings will take on the Pistons at home this evening. Detroit has been poor against the position this season, ranking 27th in the league. This will be the first meeting between the two teams this year. Cousins has continued to be one of the most dangerous bigs in the league. However, recent inconsistency from the floor has seen a drop in production while his salary remains high.

High Tier Pick ($8,500 – $7,000)

Paul Millsap – $7800 – 46.488 Points

The trade rumors have died down and Paul Millsap appears to be a long term option in Atlanta. Whether or not there was any real traction is unknown, but his value stabilizes in a familiar role. If he stays it likely means a long-term, rather expensive extension to stay with the team. Millsap stands in as the number one High tier option with a 38.5 fantasy average each night. The Hawks will be facing the Nets on the road this evening. Brooklyn has been the worst against the position as they rank 30th versus opposing power forwards. Surprisingly, this will be the first matchup between the two Eastern Conference teams this season. Millsap’s reliability as a scorer, rebounder, and defender has made him one of the most consistent Daily options at power forward, and that is unlikely to change tonight.

Middle Tier ($7,000 – $5,000)

Ryan Anderson – $5100 – 31.719 Points

Ryan Anderson plays as one of the top value options with an average of 24.5 fantasy points per night. The Rockets will take on the Hornets at home this evening. Charlotte has been strong against opposing power forwards with the 9th ranking defense in the league. This marks the first time these teams will meet this season. What looks to be a poor matchup will be heavily dependent on Anderson’s efficiency from deep. Few teams can match his spacing ability, even more so when he is knocking down shots.

Low Tier ( -$5,000)

Jon Leuer – $4800 – 28.997 Points

Jon Leuer is one of the better punt options available this evening with a 22.8 fantasy average this year. Detroit faces Sacramento on the road tonight. The Kings offer a poor matchup as they rank 10th against opposing power forwards. This evening’s game will be the first meeting between the Pistons and Kings. Leuer has been a reliable contributor for the Pistons this season, though his production has been inconsistent. Following an injury and an unpredictable matchup, he offers one of the highest ceilings for all punt options if he plays. He remains listed as day-to-day as his test results reported no ligament damage.
