Damian Lillard delivered a historic performance as the Trail Blazers came away with a win over the Heat. Lillard played 36 minutes in a remarkably efficient offensive night. He scored 49 points on 14-21 shooting (12-12 FT) with a game high 9 three pointers on 12 attempts. His production was slightly furthered with 5 assists, 1 rebound, and 1 block. Lillard played as top option at the position with 56.7 FanDuel points.
Spencer Dinwiddie emerged as a valuable bench option as the Nets dropped their 56th game on the season. Dinwiddie played 30 minutes to lead the second unit with a near double-double on the offensive side of the court. He scored 18 points on 5-9 shooting (6-7 FT) while recording 7 assists. His production on the defensive end was limited as he finished with 2 rebounds and 1 steal. Dinwiddie offered production well above his price level as he finised with a 9.11 value.
J.J. Barea offered strong offensive production for the Mavericks’ second unit in a road win over the Nets. Barea found 27 minutes of action as Dallas won their 30th game of the season. He scored 20 points on 8-12 shooting while also adding 7 assists on that side of the court. His defensive production totaled to 2 steals and 1 rebound with Barea playing well above his expected level given a 8.02 value at the end of the night.
Elite Tier Pick (+$8,500)
Stephen Curry – $9900 – 45.998 Points
Standing as the top Elite option, Stephen Curry has averaged 65 fantasy points a game. He and the Warriors will take on the Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena this evening. Oklahoma City has been dominant against the position this season, ranking 2nd in the league. Curry is coming off one of his more efficient performances in recent weeks with success as a scorer and passer. He remains one of the more dangerous point guard options in the league despite losing Kevin Durant. The Thunder and Russell Westbrook continue to frustrate their opposition, but earlier season matchups predict a favorable outing for Curry tonight.
High Tier Pick ($8,500 – $7,000)
Chris Paul – $8400 – 43.273 Points
Chris Paul stands in as the number one High tier option with an improving fantasy average each night. The Clippers will be facing the Knicks at the Staples Center this evening. New York has been inconsistent against the position as they rank lowly versus opposing point guards. Paul is bouncing between the two upper and tiers and has settled to a more value oriented price for today’s game. He is one of the game’s best facilitators with regular scoring as well. The Knicks have seen limited production from their backcourt over the final stretch, yielding high upside for Paul.
Middle Tier ($7,000 – $5,000)
Jeff Teague – $6600 – 31.85 Points
Jeff Teague plays as one of the top value options with a reliable average of fantasy points per night. The Pacers will take on the Jazz at home this evening. Utah has been elite against opposing point guards with the 5th ranking defense in the league. Teague is a high upside name from the Middle tier as the former All-Star is capable of making a run towards the top tiers. His primary role remains as a facilitator, but scoring is a key part of his game. The Jazz have seen a rise in the rankings as of late with an interesting matchup tonight as George Hill faces his former team.
Low Tier ( -$5,000)
Emmanuel Mudiay – $3900 – 21.186 Points
Emmanuel Mudiay is one of the better Low tier options available this evening with a 20.76 fantasy average this year. Denver faces Houston at the Toyota Center tonight. The Rockets offer a favorable matchup as they rank 24th against opposing point guards. Mudiay has seen a disappointing second half of the season. Early injuries resulted in a limited role and the former top prospect has failed to see the court on more than one occasion. The Nuggets need a primary ball handler for the second unit, allowing Mudiay to find opportunity against one of the weaker defensive bench units in the league.
