Isaiah Thomas leads the point guard position with strong value against the Raptors. He ranks behind only James Harden with a projection for 56.90 DraftKings points. Harden holds a sizeable advantage in total scoring, but his high price tag will be out of many owner’s budget. Thomas offers a more affordable alternative with big upside. His counterpart for tonight, Kyle Lowry, stands as one of the next best options.
Russell Westbrook lived up to high expectations as he was one rebound shy of a triple-double. Westbrook played 33 minutes in the sizeable win at Chicago. He led all point guards in scoring with 55.75 DraftKings points. His run of sharpshooting came to an end on 1-7 results from beyond the arc. He tallied 21 points, 14 assists, and 9 rebounds in the win. Westbrook was again the top option for point guards as he regularly lives up to his top price tag.
Ricky Rubio delivered another great night as Minnesota’s facilitator to reinforce why he is the starter over Kris Dunn. Despite shooting 3-9 from the floor, Rubio scored 13 points because of a perfect night from the charity stripe. He completed his double-double with 15 assists, also adding 5 steals for deep value. Rubio served as one of the top options on a thin night, falling behind only Westbrook. Some would argue he was the better option with a 9.58 value that led the position.
Ron Baker saw a surprising amount of action in Monday’s loss to the Pelicans. Baker played 25 minutes off the bench as he delivered a versatile line. He was limited in scoring chances as he finished with only 6 points. The main source of his value came on the glass as his 7 rebounds ranked second for the team. Adding 4 assists and 1 steal, Baker finished with 21.75 DraftKings points. Standing as the top punt option for last night’s games, he ranked second among point guards with a 7.25 value.

Elite Tier Pick (+$8,500)
Isaiah Thomas – $9100 – 56.898 Points
The Celtics salvaged a slow start to the season by turning to a career scoring effort from Isaiah Thomas. The system has not changed as he continues to be one of the most dangerous options in basketball. The emergence of Marcus Smart has lifted the team to new success, but his lack of shooting ability leaves Thomas as the continued favorite in the offense.
Standing as the top Elite option, Thomas has averaged 42.8 fantasy points a game. He and the Celtics will take on the Raptors on the road this evening. Toronto has been sub-par against the position this season, ranking 18th in the league. Thomas was absent for the previous meeting this season. He’s been a regular scorer this year, but to deliver on Elite potential he will need to find one of his better passing days. His floor is high, but the ceiling is only pushed by assist numbers.
High Tier Pick ($8,500 – $7,000)
Kyle Lowry – $8200 – 46.614 Points
Kyle Lowry stands in as the number one High tier option with a 43.5 fantasy average each night. The Raptors will be facing the Celtics in Toronto this evening. Boston has been horrendous against the position as they rank 27th versus opposing point guards. Lowry turned in a big outing in the previous win over the Celtics. He recorded 34 points and 7 rebounds against a thin backcourt. A similar night could be on the ledger with Boston’s struggles to defend.
Middle Tier ($7,000 – $5,000)
Tyler Johnson – $5500 – 36.624 Points
Tyler Johnson plays as one of the top value options with an average of 28.1 fantasy points per night. The Heat will take on the Warriors at Oracle Arena this evening. Golden State has been strong against opposing point guards with the 8th ranking defense in the league. This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season. Johnson may see increased minutes as Miami is playing their fifth road game in a row, and their eighth in the past two and half weeks.
Low Tier ( -$5,000)
Jerian Grant – $3100 – 23.959 Points
Jerian Grant is one of the better punt options available this evening with a 10.4 fantasy average this year. Chicago faces Washington at the Verizon Center tonight. The Wizards offer an average matchup as they rank 16th against opposing point guards. Grant saw limited action in the teams’ previous matchup. Following a game last night, he may see increased minutes. The second-year guard remains a punt option with inconsistent numbers across more playing time.
