Jimmy Butler is the favorite at small forward as the Bulls host the Celtics this evening. Butler is projected 46.65 FanDuel points to rank ahead of Paul George. The position is exceptionally limited in depth with only two games tonight, but there is playable value across the upper tiers. Butler offers the highest potential, though there are a handful of names that can produce at top levels. Owners will need to target the right play in a position crucial in tonight’s production.
Kevin Durant offered a strong all-around performance as the Warriors pulled away from Sacramento in the second half. The two teams were close at halftime, but Golden state outscored the Kings 42-15 in the third quarter. Durant was effective in all areas of the game as he finished with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 blocks, and 1 steal. He continues to play with extreme efficiency and as a result he finished with 50.8 FanDuel points to lead all small forwards.
Joe Ingles was one of many Jazz players who found success on the offensive end in a 23-point win over the Trail Blazers. Ingles played 32 minutes as he made an impact on both ends of the floor. He scored 18 points on 7-9 shooting (4-6 3PT) in addition to his 4 assists. Adding 4 rebounds, 4 steals, and 1 block, he made a difference with every part of his game. Ingles finished the evening with a 10.22 value that stood as the top mark for the position.
Solomon Hill has delivered more consistent production over recent weeks and that trend continued in a win over Memphis on Wednesday. Hill played a team high 37 minutes as the top scoring option behind extremely efficient shooting. He scored 23 points on 8-11 shooting with 4 three-pointers made on 6 attempts. His defensive effort aided in his strong fantasy impact as he recorded 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Hill accumulated 34.5 FanDuel points for a 8.84 value that ranked second among small forwards.
Elite Tier Pick (+$8,500)
Jimmy Butler – $9700 – 46.652 Points
Standing as the top Elite option, Jimmy Butler has averaged 37.9 fantasy points a game. He and the Bulls will take on the Celtics at home this evening. Boston has been strong against the position this season, ranking 8th in the league. Butler is one of few Elite options across all positions this evening. He is one of the best two-way players in the league with increased production on the offensive end his season. The Bulls have become more reliant on him given backcourt inconsistency, but he will be challenged by a strong perimeter defense from Boston.
Middle Tier ($7,000 – $5,000)
Otto Porter – $6600 – 28.356 Points
Otto Porter plays as one of the top value options with an average of 28.24 fantasy points per night. The Wizards will take on the Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse this evening. Indiana has been average against opposing small forwards with the 15th ranking defense in the league. Porter has shown steady improvement since entering the league and is finally a nightly contributor on both ends of the floor. His greatest Daily production will come as a scorer and rebounder, though his best performances come from his playmaking ability on the defensive end. A safe middle ground with predictable value from the Middle tier.
Low Tier ( -$5,000)
C.J. Miles – $3900 – 18.15 Points
C.J. Miles is one of the better Low tier options available this evening with a 16.61 fantasy average this year. Indiana faces Washington at Bankers Life Fieldhouse tonight. The Wizards offer an ideal matchup as they rank 24th against opposing small forwards. Miles has seen a decline in production since the beginning of the season when he performed at career-best rates. The Pacers have seen inconsistent production on the wings beyond Paul George, but increased opportunity against the Wizards may result in higher production from Miles this evening.
