Courtney Lee is the best punt option for today’s thin list at his position. Despite ranking ninth among all shooting guards, he stands as one of the better value plays. Bradley Beal, Eric Gordon, and Victor Oladipo are the only names projected over 30 points. Gordon may not be available and the other two have lower values than Lee. The position will have unpredictable scoring tonight, forcing owners to spend money elsewhere.
DeMar DeRozan continues to live up to expectations as he’s led all shooting guards for his third game in a row. He topped the position’s chart with 62.75 DraftKings points stemming from his double-double. DeRozan was efficient in more ways than one, recording 41 points, 13 rebounds, and 2 steals. Attempting only two shots from beyond the arc, he continues to play well around the rim. His 7.56 value ranked second for all shooting guards, cementing him as the top overall option.
Rodney Hood delivered a strong all-around performance to help push the Jazz to a win over the Cavaliers at home. He was a steady presence from beyond the arc, converting four times on ten shots. Failing to make a single trip to the free throw line, Hood finished the game with 18 points. His main value stemmed from all other production as he tallied 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Hood has seen his inconsistencies behind Gordon Hayward, but his 8.31 value made him one of the best play last night.

Middle Tier ($7,000 – $5,000)
Eric Gordon – $5900 – 35.802 Points
A signification amount of Houston’s success this season has come at the hands of Eric Gordon. One of the more notable off-season moves from the Rockets, he has been a reliable scorer off the bench. James Harden’s ability to play the point has forced teams to give him more attention, freeing up shooters such as Gordon. His ability to shoot from beyond the arc has never been questioned. The difference is that he had made it through the first couple of months without a single injury. That is now different as he missed yesterday’s game.
Eric Gordon plays as one of the top value options with an average of 28.9 fantasy points per night. The Rockets will take on the Timberwolves on the road this evening. Minnesota has been elite against opposing shooting guards with the 2nd ranking defense in the league. Gordon was a big contributor when the teams first met this season. He recorded 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists in the narrow victory. His availability is in question though following a toe injury that held him out of the game. With the team traveling he may not make the trip.
Low Tier ( -$5,000)
Courtney Lee – $4000 – 23.544 Points
The Knicks have had a season focused solely around Kristaps Porzingis and Carmelo Anthony. Every so often someone else will make a headline. Sitting quietly on the wings has been Courtney Lee who is leading the NBA in three point shooting. Though he’s only taken about a third of the attempts of Kyle Lowry, Lee has been dominant within his role New York has looked to him for spot up shooting as a reliable option when the main scorers cannot find their shot.
Courtney Lee is one of the better punt options available this evening with a 19.1 fantasy average this year. New York faces Philadelphia on the road tonight. The 76ers offer an average matchup as they rank 15th against opposing shooting guards. This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season. The divisional opponents should make for a good matchup as both teams’ strengths rest in their frontcourt. Lee will continues in his complimentary role as a spot up shooter from the outside. Looking to break his mild slump, a bad Sixers team may be the perfect opportunity.
Other Top Values:
Bradley Beal – The Wizards are on the road to take on the Boston Celtics. Beal has been a reliable option for Washington all season. He remains a good shooter from the outside with the ability to slash and score on the interior. Beal is projected to be the leading scorer for the position this evening.
Victor Oladipo – Oklahoma City will be playing host to the Grizzlies this evening. Memphis has been a black hole for many shooting guards because of Tony Allen. The elite defender has regularly stopped the best scorers in the league. If Mike Conley is paired up with Russell Westbrook, Oladipo will have to over perform to live up to his billing.
