Dominik Szoboszlai has urged Liverpool supporters to remain behind the team after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, stressing the importance of unity between players and fans during difficult moments.
The midfielder, speaking after the match, acknowledged the frustration around the result and the team’s recent form but asked supporters to stay until the final whistle and continue backing the side inside Anfield. He noted that when some fans begin to leave early, it can have an impact on the atmosphere and on how the players feel on the pitch, particularly in tight matches where a late goal could change the outcome.
Szoboszlai emphasised that the players are aware of the expectations at Liverpool and understand the disappointment when the team fails to secure all three points at home. He underlined that the squad is working hard to respond and improve but believes that the club is at its strongest when the stands remain full and vocal, even when results are not going their way. According to him, the energy from the crowd can lift the team and help them push through challenging periods in games.
The draw with Tottenham added to a spell in which Liverpool have struggled to turn performances into victories, increasing tension around their campaign. Szoboszlai did not single out any individuals for criticism and did not place blame on supporters, instead framing his comments as an appeal for togetherness. He repeated that players and fans share the same objective of seeing Liverpool compete at the highest level and that maintaining a united front is crucial.
He also indicated that the squad remains confident they can respond positively, but said that achieving this is easier when they feel continuous backing from the stands. While he accepted that fans have the right to react to results, he urged them to stay until the end of matches and continue to make Anfield a difficult place for visiting teams.
With crucial fixtures still ahead, Szoboszlai’s message was that consistent support can help Liverpool find momentum again, and that he and his teammates are determined to reward that loyalty on the pitch.
