The report says Drake appears to take aim at LeBron James on the track “Make Them Remember,” which appears on his newly released album Iceman. The report says the song, which was leaked on social media before the album’s release, contains lines that reference James and his number 23, including the lyrics: “I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena. Because you always made your career for switching teams up. … Please stop asking what’s going on with 23 and me, I’m a real n—a and he’s not.”
The report says Drake released three studio albums early Friday morning — Iceman, Habibti and Maid of Honour — marking his first solo album release since For All The Dogs in 2023. The leaked track and its lyrics drew attention amid an ongoing, public back-and-forth involving Drake and several NBA figures.
The report says the tension between Drake and James has been evident since Drake’s 2024 feud with Kendrick Lamar, which included a nine-track exchange. The report says Lamar later hosted a concert called “The Pop Out: Ken & Friends” at the Kia Forum in Inglewood on June 19, where James attended and Sacramento Kings guards Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan eventually appeared on stage with Lamar.
The report says the two have exchanged additional shots in recent months. In January 2025, a Drake track titled “Fighting Irish Freestyle” surfaced, which the report says referenced James’ high school and appeared aimed at James and DeRozan for attending Lamar’s Juneteenth concert, including the line “The world fell in love with the gimmicks, even my brothers got tickets.” The report says Drake also altered lyrics during a February 2025 live performance in Perth, changing a line from “How I go from six to 23 like I’m LeBron” to “How I go from six to 23 but not LeBron, man.”
The report says the relationship between the rapper and the NBA star has not always been strained. The report says Drake brought James on stage during a 2018 performance while doing a verse on Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” and that Drake walked out with LeBron and Bronny James for a Los Angeles stop of the It’s All a Blur Tour in 2023 after Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest earlier that year. The report says Drake previously had a tattoo of James’ St. Vincent-St. Mary high school jersey, which he later covered with Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s No. 2 and the word “Thunder” layered on top.
The report says James commented on the state of their relationship in September on the podcast “360 With Speedy,” saying, “Always wish him the best obviously. … Different places right now, currently. He’s doing his thing, I’m doing mine, but it’s always love for sure.”
