Duke at Louisville: Zion Williamson vs. Jordan Nwora Total Points

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The biggest name in college basketball this year is Zion Williamson. Williamson has done it all as the superstar of the Duke Blue Devils. He has been able to take over games with his play in the low post, and his athleticism is unlike anything we have ever seen before. Guys his size aren’t supposed to be able to move like he can, and that will likely make him the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft this year. On Tuesday night, he and the Duke Blue Devils will head to Kentucky to take on Jordan Nwora and the Louisville Cardinals. These big men are two of the best in the country, and BetDSI has asked which player will have the better day on Tuesday.

Who will have more points on Tuesday night?

Zion Williamson -5.5

Jordan Nwora +5.5

Let’s start with Nwora. The sophomore has really come into his own in his second season on campus, and he has been the leader for the Cardinals this year. He is hitting the same percentage of baskets that he did last year even though he is now the primary option, and that has helped Louisville thrive this season. Nwora is averaging 17.6 points per game this year, but he has had some trouble against tough opponents in recent weeks.

Nwora is a combined 12-for-39 in his last three games. He has been hamstrung by North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Florida State, and that has hurt the Cardinals. Louisville ended up losing to two of the three teams, and they would love to score a big win against Duke here.

Williamson has been the most impressive player in college basketball this year. He is averaging 21.8 points, and is one of the most efficient scorers in the country. He is hitting 68.4 percent of his field goals on the season, and his athleticism has made him impossible to guard.

No player can get his shot easier than Williamson. He has shown a proclivity to run the floor that big men don’t typically have, and that makes him really difficult to match up against. His athleticism was on full display against Virginia, as he shot 75 percent from the floor against one of the best defenses in the nation and made one of the most incredible blocks you will ever see.

This will be the only meeting between Louisville and Duke this season. The Cardinals have one of the better defenses in the nation according to Ken Pomeroy, but the Blue Devils have one of the best. Duke has been able to shut down most of its opponents, and it will focus its efforts on Nwora.

It’s the square play, but I would lay the points with Williamson to outscore Nwora here. Williamson is an absolute nightmare to go up against. While Nwora is a solid player, we have seen his like before, and Williamson has the chance to be transcendent. It’s hard to go against that.
