Either the Boston Bruins or the Carolina Hurricanes will claim the Prince of Wales Trophy and represent the Eastern Conference in the Stanley Cup Finals at the end of May. Carolina clinched their spot in the conference finals last Friday after sweeping the New York Islanders, while the Bruins locked in their spot last night with a victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Let’s get into that and the two Game Sevens we are set to see out West below.

It’s not all good news for Boston. Charlie McAvoy is set to have a hearing with the NHL after his hit to the head of Josh Anderson last night, and it seems likely that he will be suspended for at least Game 1.

Bruins / Hurricanes Game 1 will be on Thursday at 8 p.m. at TD Garden.

The rest of the schedule for the Eastern Conference Finals will be released later.

The first four games of the Eastern Conference Finals have been scheduled, and the remainder of the schedule will be filled out in the coming days. Carolina will be well-rested with five days off prior to the start of the series.

We saw a thriller between the Avalanche and Sharks last night. J.T. Compher scored twice for Colorado, but the game wasn’t decided until Gabriel Landeskog netted early in overtime to keep Colorado alive in the series. Game 7 is set for Wednesday night in San Jose.

The first Western Conference finalist will be determined tonight as the Dallas Stars face the St. Louis Blues in Game 7. St. Louis will be rocking as one of the NHL’s unluckiest franchises continues its quest for its first Stanley Cup. The Blues have made the postseason in 42 of their 51 seasons, but they have yet to win it all.
