Eli Manning awards Barney Amor, a walk-on at Penn State, a full scholarship

After James Franklin, the head coach, gave a quick introduction, four-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl winner Eli Manning gave Penn State punter Barney Amor the surprise of a lifetime: a full scholarship. Amor will be a super redshirt senior when he rejoins the Penn State team because he was given permission to play for a sixth season following the epidemic. Amor attended Colgate for his first four years of college before transferring to Penn State in 2021.

Amor signed on with Colgate in 2017, but he didn’t play in any games until his junior year in 2019. In the Patriot League that year, his punting average was second-best (42.1 yards). Amor was also selected as an academic All-Big Ten performer in 2021 in addition to being recognized to the Patriot League academic honor list from 2018 to 2020. As a punter for Penn State, he has not yet participated in a game.
