English Premier League Round 33 – Three Match Preview

English Premier League

The English Premier League Round 33 is ahead of us and once again we will give you our Three-Match Preview, on top of the other previews that we have already posted here at Get More Sports. For this Round, we will cover the match-ups between Stoke City and Hull City, Sunderland and West Ham, while also analyzing the Watford vs. Swansea City match-up.

STOKE CITY FC vs. HULL CITY

3-Way: 1: Stoke City +102; X: +260 Draw; 2: Hull City +333

Spread -0.5: Stoke City +100; Hull City -105

Total +2.5:Over +114; Under -119

STOKE CITY

Stoke City is looking to break out of the recent funk during which they recorded 4 straight losses. The Potters faced some heavy competition during the negative stretch, losing at home to Liverpool and Chelsea with the same 1:2 final score. In addition, their match-ups with Burnley and Leicester ended with the same outcome, making the Potters fall in the standings of the English Premier League.

Currently, Stoke City holds the 13th spot and although they are still out of the danger zone, the red alarms are slowly switching on and the game against the Hull City could be a great opportunity to end the negative streak.

In the 32 games played so far, the Potters have collected a total of 36 points (9W, 9D, 14L), 8 points clear of the relegation zone. They have scored 34 goals and conceded 47. At home, they have collected a total of 23 points (6W, 5D, 5L), scoring 20 goals and allowing 19. In their last 5 games at home, the Potters have recorded 2 wins, 2 losses and a draw.

Coach Mark Hughes will not be able to count on Joe Allen, Afellay and Ireland, while Adam, Butland, Given and Walters remain doubtful.

HULL CITY

The Hull City Manager Marco Silva hopes that his team will continue their incline on the standings of the English Premier League. With three wins out of the last 5, Hull City has managed to get out of the drop zone.

They currently rank 17th with 30 points to their name (8W, 6D, 18L). They have scored 33 goals and allowed 64 goals, which the second most in the entire league. Hull City is extremely bad on the road,  where they have recorded only 1 win, 2 draws and 13 losses, winning 5 points only. On the road, they have scored only 8 goals which is the fewest goals scored on the road among all team. Furthermore, in their last three visits to the BET365 stadium in the regular season, Hull has failed to score a single goal, losing all three matches. In 29 of the 32 games, Hull has conceded a goal.

The Hull City manager Marco Silva will not be able to count on the injured Elabdellaoui, Odubajo, Keane and Mason, while Maguire and Mbokani remain questionable.

Not too many goals have been score in the match-up between these two teams. Although I expect the trends to continue, I am also picking the Stoke City to finally put an end to their losing streak.

MY PICK: Stoke City (+102)

TOTAL: Under 2.5 goals (-119)

FC WATFORD vs. SWANSEA CITY FC

3-Way: 1: FC Watford +156; X: + 240 Draw; 2: Swansea City FC +218

Spread 0: Watford -127; Swansea +123

Total +2.5:Over +125; Under -132

FC WATFORD

Watford is surprisingly good this season in the English Premier League. Among the toughest European competition, the Watford FC has managed the 10th spot on the table. They have struggled a lot throughout the season, but each time they would experience the drop, they would somehow find a way to win games.

They are currently holding the 10th position with a total of 37 points (10W, 7D, 14L), during which they have scored a total of 36 goals and conceded 52. Important for Watford are their games at the Vicarge Road, where they have collected 25 points with 7 wins, 4 draws and 5 losses. The month of April started pretty good for the hosts, who have won both of their most recent games at home.

For the game against the Swansea, Miguel Britos (suspended), Sebastian Prodl and Younes Kaboul are also injured, while Behrami and Deeney are expected to recover for the Weekends game.

SWANSEA CITY FC

When you switch up the Managers so often, then it is understandable that you will not be able to make quick decision and make the right moves. The current Manager is Paul Clement and I really hope that their Premier League Status will not come into question.

Most recently the Swans have lost 4 of their last 5 games, losing to the Tottenham Hotspur 1:3. they currently hold the 18th spot with a total of 28 points won, only 2 points behind the Hull City and 4 points in front of the Middlesbrough who rank 19th. They have scored 37 and conceded the most goals in the entire league with 67 and counting.

Jack Cork and Leon Britton are both questionable for Saturday.

This should be a very interesting match-up, as both teams could see some shifting on the table. In their last three previous meetings, both teams have recorded a win apiece, along with a draw. What stands out is that there have not been too many goals scored. However, I will go with the AH on Watford in this one.

MY PICK: AH Watford (-127)

FC SUNDERLAND vs. WEST HAM UNITED

3-Way: 1: Sunderland FC +225; X: + 265 Draw; 2: West Ham United +144

Spread +0.5: Sunderland +147;West Ham -141

Total +2.5:Over -118; Under +118

FC SUNDERLAND

It has been a while since the Sunderland FC has recorded a win against their next opponent, the West Ham United. As a matter of fact, the last time Sunderland defeated West Ham, was back in 2013, when they celebrated a 3:0 win. Since then, Sunderland has faced West Ham on 7 more occasions with the West Ham winning in 4 and 4 draws.

Sunderland has not been very productive this season in the English Premier League, winning only 20 points in 31 games (5W, 5D, 21L), which is the worst record in the league, and it is safe to say now that they are going to be crossed off for the next seasons Premier League. They have scored only 24 goals while giving up 56. Sunderland is the bottom ranked on the table when it comes to points collectedat home, recorded 3 wins, 4 draws and 9 losses, during which they scored 14 goals and gave up 29 goals.

Bryaon Oviedo, Sebastian Larrson remain questionable for Saturday.

WEST HAM UNITED

Coach Slaven Bilic is fully aware that if his team, West Ham United, wants to keep their English Premier League status for the next season, they will have to start winning points on the road. If there is a one win where we could safely say that the Hammers will win on the road, than this is the one.

Overall, the Hammers are currently ranked 14th with 36 points collected (10W, 6D, 16L). They have scored 42 goals while having conceded 57 goals. The Hammers have recorded 4 losses and one win in their last 5 games. On the road, the Hammers have performed much better, winning 15 points (4W, 3D, 9W). However, they have not seen a lot of success on the road lately, as they won only 4 of a total 15 points.

The Sunderland FC is slowly saying goodbyes with the English Premier league. On the other side, West Ham United is still going strong and We should always be at their service. With that being said, I believe that they can win against the Sunderland on the road, which would give you enough of free time.

MY PICK: West Ham United (+144)
