English Premier League Round 33 – Two-Match Preview

English Premier League

Round 33 of the English Premier League will feature two match-ups on Sunday and as always we shall take a closer look in order to give you some valuable betting advices. First match-up will take place in London between West Bromwich and Liverpool while second one is a big treat at Old Trafford where United and Chelsea will square off.

WEST BROMWICH ALBION vs. LIVERPOOL FC

3-Way: 1: West Bromwich Albion +350; X: +275 Draw; 2: Liverpool FC -105

Spread +0.5: West Bromwich Albion +100; Liverpool FC -106

Total +2.5: Over +104; Under -106

WEST BROMWICH ALBION

The West Bromwich Albion is having a solid season as they rank eighth in the league table with 44 points in 32 games. They are 2-2-4 in the last eight games and 2-0-2 in the last four home games. They play much better at home where they’ve earned 66% of their total points. They are 9-2-5 in front of their home crowd with 27-19 goal difference (39-41 overall) and they are ranked ninth in the home league table with 29 of 48 possible points earned.

56% of their home games are over 2.5 goals while 44% of their home matches are over 3.5 goals in total. Most common result at home is a 3:1 win (occurred four times). Salomon Rondon tops the team in scoring with seven goals while Gareth McAuley has six in his account. Matt Phillips leads the team in assists with eight while Darren Fletcher tops the passing segment with 1062 total passes. Goalie Ben Foster played all 32 games for team this season and collected 101 saves with six games with clean sheet.

West Bromwich has no injured players at the moment.

LIVERPOOL FC

The Liverpool FC team is in a period of very high-quality performances as they are undefeated in last seven games. Latest defeat came on February 27 on the road against defending champions Leicester City.

Liverpool reds are 5-2-1 in last eight games and 1-1-2 in last four road games. They are 7-5-4 away this season with 27-24 goal difference (68-40 overall) and they rank fourth in the road league table with 26 of 48 possible points earned. Currently, they are third in the league table with 63 points in 32 matches.

They are five points behind Tottenham and two points above Manchester City but they have one game more than these teams. Champions League spot is an imperative and every game will count, especially the ones on the road. 56% of Liverpool away matches are over 2.5 goals while 31% of their road games are over 3.5 goals in total. They’ve scored at least one goal in each of their last eight matches but they also conceded at least one goal in each of their last seven matches.

They’ve scored in 81% of t:1 draw (both occurred three times). Sadio Mane tops the team in scoring this season with 13 goals while Roberto Firmino and Phillipe Coutinho have 10 and 9 in their accounts. Adam Lallana is the leading assister with seven while Jordan Henderson tops the team and the league in passing segment with 1057 total passes. Simon Mingolet (22 games) and Loris Karius (10 games) have collected 62 saves and they have 7 games with clean sheets combined.

Danny Ings (knee) and Adam Bogdan (ACL) are both out for the Sunday game with unspecified dates of return while Ovie Ejaria (ankle), Jordan Henderson (bruised foot), Adam Lallana (thigh) and Sadio Mane (knee) are all major doubts.

Liverpool needs the points but that’s not an easy task at Hawthorns this season. Safest bet in this game will be at least one goal by both teams.

MY PICK: Over 2.5 goals (+104)

MANCHESTER UNITED FC vs. CHELSEA FC

3-Way: 1: Manchester United FC -186; X: +229 Draw; 2: Chelsea FC +193

Spread 0:  Manchester United FC -103; Chelsea FC +104

Total +2.5: Over +131; Under -139

The Manchester United FC is undefeated in the last 21 matches but many of those games ended in a draw (10 draws). Their last defeat came from their next opponents on October 23 last year when they got outplayed and outscored at Stamford Bridge, 4:0.

United is in a fight for a Champions League spot and they are little behind for now as they rank fifth in the league table with 57 points in 30 games but they do have at least one match less than every each team in front of them. They are 4-4-0 in the last eight matches and 1-3-0 in the last four home games. The Red Devils are undefeated in last 14 matches at home with a 6-9-1 record. Their goal difference at home is 21-11 (46-22 overall) and they rank 10th in the home league table with 27 of 48 possible points earned.

United earned more points on the road this season but that will have to change if they want to qualify for the CL play. Most common result at home is a 1-1 draw (occurred six times). Zlatan Ibrahimovic tops the team in scoring this season with 17 goals while Juan Mata has six in the league in his account. Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney lead the team in assists while Paul Pogba tops the passing segment with 2010 total passes. David de Gea (29 appearances) and Sergio Romero (1 appearance) collected 62 saves and have 12 games with clean sheets combined.

James Wilson (ACL) is out indefinitely. Phil Jones (toe), Chris Smalling (knee) and Juan Mata (groin, pelvis) are major doubts while Wayne Rooney (ankle) and Ashley Young (groin) are slight doubts for Sunday game.

CHELSEA FC

The Chelsea FC is at the top of English Premier League currently and they have the best chance for the title. London Blues collected 75 points in 31 games and their closest contender is Tottenham that has seven points less. There are seven more rounds before the end of the league schedule and a win over their bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford would make them one step closest to their goal.

Chelsea is the best road team in England this year with 11-3-2 record and 26-14 goal difference (65-25 overall). They scored in 88% of their away matches and they rank on the top of the road league table with 36 of 48 possible points earned. 50% of their road matches are over 2.5 goals while 81% of their away games are under 3.5 goals in total.

Most common results on the road are 2:1 and 1:0 wins (both occurred three times). Diego Costa tops the team in scoring with 17 goals while Eden Hazard has 14 in his account. Cesc Fabregas and Pedro are the best assisters with seven each while Cesar Azpilicueta leads the passing segment with 1970 total passes. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois played in every league game this season and collected 59 saves with 13 games without a conceded goal.

Coach Antonio Conte has his entire roster available.

Big derby and a big game on Sunday  with implications for both teams. For United a draw would be almost equal as defeat because they need the points and home draws are starting to annoy the fans. It will probably be a very tough game but I think that United can win at least narrowly with one goal difference.

MY PICK: Under 2.5 goals (-139)
