EPL Fantasy: Week 37 DFS Lineup

The Premier League season will come to an end this Sunday. While Hull City, Middlesbrough and Sunderland have already been designated for relegation, there is at least one more Champions League spot that hasn’t been clinched. Arsenal will enter the final day of match play trailing Liverpool by a single point for that final spot. Liverpool will benefit from a favorable matchup against Middlesbrough while Arsenal might have a much tougher time versus Everton. The significance of the games certainly came in to play when we figured out the best combination of star players and sleeper value plays in our lineup for this week’s DraftKings competitions. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Sunday’s DraftKings EPL daily fantasy leagues.

GK: Simon Mignolet, Liverpool

Salary: $5,900

Mignolet has been a steady presence in the Liverpool goal all season. They will need him at his best if they are going to take down Middlesbrough and hold off Arsenal for that final Champions League spot. With their season on the line, we expect a strong performance from Mignolet behind a steady defense core.

D: Joel Matip, Liverpool

Salary: $3,600

Matip is coming off a strong performance in Liverpool’s win over West Ham United. The Reds will need another strong outing from him versus Middlesbrough. If Liverpool can shut down the Middlesbrough attack the way they did against West Ham then Matip could also benefit from a clean sheet bonus.

D: Dejan Lovren, Liverpool

Salary: $3,400

Lovren is another intriguing play from the Liverpool defense core based on his potential and his price tag. At just $3.4 K, Lovren completes a defense core that will cost us just $7 million in DraftKings tournaments this Sunday. Matip and Lovren have the potential to perform above their price tags in a key clash versus Middlesbrough.

M: Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool

Salary: $10,300

Coutinho led the way for Liverpool in last week’s win over West Ham with two goals and an assist. He is listed as one of the most expensive midfield options on the board for a reason and Coutinho certainly has the potential to live up to that price tag. Heading in to the most important game of the season it’s clear that Coutinho should be in most DraftKings lineups on Sunday.

M: Gabriel Wijnaldum, Liverpool

Salary: $4,600

Our run on Liverpool players continues with Wijnaldum. While it might seem like we are getting a bit carried away with this stack, the reality is that his value is too good to pass on. Wijnaldum had two assists in last week’s win over West Ham and produced the second-best EPL fantasy score of any player on Liverpool’s roster. At just $4.6K, he is the perfect compliment to Coutinho completing the 1-2 punch in our midfield.

F: Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal

Salary: $10,000

After loading up on Liverpool players, it’s time to give somebody from Arsenal a shot. It only makes sense that we will lock in their best EPL fantasy option and arguably the best option on the board at the forward position for this weekend. Sanchez is capable of taking over games on his own and he will undoubtedly be at his best versus Everton this weekend.

F: Pedro, Chelsea

Salary: $8,500

With just over $11K left to address our final two positions it only makes sense to take another shot on a player that could explode in EPL fantasy competitions this weekend. Chelsea is firmly entrenched atop the table but it won’t be a surprise if they go out with a bang in a favorable matchup against a Sunderland side that is at the other end of the table. Pedro is capable of producing an outstanding stat line on Sunday so look for him to deliver an excellent performance in Chelsea’s season finale.

FLEX: Rob Holding, Arsenal

Salary: $3,100

With $3.6K left over to address our final FLEX position, we decided to go with a defender option from Arsenal in Holding. Arsenal will be fighting until the final minute for a chance at a Champions League spot. The upside is certainly there with a player like Holding, who has the potential to deliver a performance that exceeds his price tag in DraftKings competitions for the final weekend of the Premier League season.
