Euro Fantasy: Daily Fantasy Lineup For Tuesday

The fifth day of Euro 2016 coverage will feature only two games on the schedule as Austria takes on Hungary and then Portugal clashes with Iceland. The lack of games will make it that much more important to hit on every single pick in DraftKings tournaments so we have taken the time to break down the matchups and build what we feel is the perfect roster.

The star of the day will be the Portuguese team, who is expected to roll in this group. With Hungary, Iceland and Austria as the competition, it would be a serious shock if they failed to finish on top of Group F. The good news is that they are coming into Tuesday’s action on a high note as they smoked Estonia 7-0 last week in a game where Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice and was pulled at half time. They can only hope things will be as easy versus Iceland. Of course, Iceland is not highly ranked but they are coming off an encouraging win of their own as they beat Lichtenstein 4-0 last week.

Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Tuesday’s DraftKings Euro fantasy tournaments.

GK: Rui Patricio, Portugal

Salary: $5,200

Portugal is listed as a tremendous sports betting favorite for its opening match with Iceland and in comparison with the other matchup, there is really no doubt about which way we need to go with our starting goalkeeper in Euro fantasy. Portugal should roll to an easy win and it would be a surprise if Patricio allows even a single goal.

D: Bruno Alves, Portugal

Salary: $3,700

It only makes sense to double down on the Portuguese with a couple of strong Euro fantasy sleeper value plays in the defense. Alves will start and he does carry some offensive upside in addition to his defensive ability.

D: Pepe, Portugal

Salary: $3,400

Pepe is another quality sleeper value option that is available at under $3.5K for Tuesday’s tournaments. There isn’t much else to say here other than that Portugal should dominate and Pepe’s low price point leaves us plenty of money to use in more important areas for our Euro fantasy lineup.

M: David Alaba, Austria

Salary: $7,200

Our first venture away from the Portugal matchup is with Alaba, who will compliment Zlatko Junuzovic in the Austria midfield to build their attack. Austria is also a significant favorite for its matchup with Hungary so this should be another safe pick.

M: Adrian Silva, Portugal

Salary: $7,200

Silva comes in as Portugal’s top midfielder in Euro fantasy DraftKings tournaments and he should have a solid game. Silva is a key contributor in the midfield that loves to spread the ball around and create for his teammates and he should have no problem doing exactly that in this game.

F: Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal

Salary: $12,800

One of the top strikers in the entire world will be another lock in every lineup for Tuesday. Ronaldo has struggled to live up to his reputation at major tournaments for Portugal in the past but the matchup combined with a thin slate will make him a lock. Iceland has had a really tough time keeping opponents off the scoresheet as they’ve allowed 17 goals in their last eight matches. That includes giving up four goals to Poland, three to Slovakia and three to Norway. Portugal figures to get at least two, which means Ronaldo should be able to make his mark in Euro fantasy tomorrow. We hope this is the game he breaks through with a big performance.

F: Marc Janko, Austria

Salary: $7,800

Janko is the top striker option from the other matchup and while he is available at a much lower price than Ronaldo he has the potential to be just as effective. Janko can produce in bunches at the offensive end of the floor and he should be an effective play up front leading the Austria attack.

FLEX: Aleksander Dragovic, Austria

Salary: $3,500

With just  $3.5K left over to spend on our final Euro fantasy FLEX position, it only made sense to go with the player that has the highest upside for that price in Dragovic. The Austria back line should be able to hold its own versus Hungary and that makes Dragovic another strong value option for Tuesday’s DraftKings competitions.
