Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and longtime girlfriend Olivia Carter were married last weekend, and videos that surfaced online showed Penix dancing at the wedding reception while rehabilitating from an ACL tear, the report says.

The report says Penix tore his ACL last November, underwent surgery and is currently rehabbing with hopes of being ready for Week 1. Videos from the reception offered a glimpse of his footwork as he continues his recovery, per the report.

Multiple Falcons teammates attended the ceremony, including running back Bijan Robinson, wide receiver Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts, the report says. A group photo at the wedding included several Atlanta players and team officials in attendance, and also featured former Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot, who was fired after the 2025 season, the report adds.

Penix and Carter had been engaged since 2024, the report says. Carter played soccer at the University of Nevada, is a native of Washington and met Penix while he was playing at the University of Washington, per the report.

The report says Penix, 26, was drafted No. 8 overall by the Falcons in 2024. He became a starter late that season and was the team’s Week 1 starter in 2025 before suffering the ACL injury, and he still has 12 career starts, the report says.

Heading into the coming season, Penix is expected to compete with veteran Tua Tagovailoa for the starting role in Atlanta, the report says. The Falcons signed Tagovailoa to a one-year, $1.3 million contract in March after his release by the Miami Dolphins, per the report.
