Fall season for the defending PAC-12 champions begins on Monday

The Oregon women’s golf team will begin the 2022–23 season on Monday at the Annika Intercollegiate at Royal Golf Club in Minnesota, following the best season in the history of the program. The Ducks, who were ranked No. 2 by Golfweek and No. 3 in the preseason WGCA poll, bring back three players from the 2021–22 team that won the Pac-12 tournament and placed second nationally in the NCAA.

After winning the Pac-12 individual title and being named to the second team of the Americas last season, Hsin-Yu (Cynthia) Lu is in the lead this year. Seniors Briana Chacon and Ching-Tzu Chen are also back; Chacon was named all-America for the second consecutive year, while both received all-Pac-12 accolades in 2022.

Brittany Shin and Baylee Hammericksen, who were on the Ducks’ roster last year, are also back, while head coach Derek Radley added three bright newcomers to the group. Nagano, on the other hand, joins the group after taking home national titles in junior college.
