First Look at WWE Royal Rumble Odds 2018

WWE Royal Rumble Odds

WWE Royal Rumble Odds 2018 – The WWE’s Royal Rumble is set for January 28th in Philadelphia, and the 30 man, over-the-top battle royal will decide who headlines Wrestlemania.

WWE champion Brock Lesnar is on the card as well and he is slated to face Kane and Braun Strowman in a Triple Threat match. Lesnar is expected to get by this test and stand for the main event at Wrestlemania in April. The re is a good chance the winner of the 30 man Royal Rumble battle will be Lesnar’s opponent come the 2018 version of the company’s signature event.

Realistically, only a few guys in the 30 man field have even a small chance of winning the Rumble. The WWE is “Sports Entertainment” meaning that they manage scripted outcomes but the group’s major events get attention from the sports books because they are masters at keeping the script under lock and key.

The December announcement that John Cena was in the Royal Rumble field gives you one of the potential winners. For more than a decade now, Cena has been the WWE’s go to guy and he has always performed. Cena is one title win away from tying Ric Flair’s all-time record of 16 world title reigns, so he will enter the Rumble as one of the favorites if not THE favorite.

Roman Reigns also has to be one of the favorites in the Rumble. He has spent the last few years building up to be the WWE’s number one guy and there are strong rumors that Reigns will be having a series of matches with John Cena at some point this year. One possible scenario sees Cena winning the Rumble and fighting for the belt at WrestleMania and facing Reigns as his first challenge. Almost as plausible is a Reigns win at the Rumble leading to Reigns entering the series with Cena as the champion.

Shinsuke Nakamura will be an x-factor in the Rumble as the Japanese star came into the WWE a lot of heat and he has performed. Former champions AJ Styles and Seth Rollins are expected to be in the mix as well and there is a chance the WWE may let them carry the belt again at some point. There presence in the 2018 Rumble will keep things interesting and you can look for a top shelf performance from all three.

Of note is the fact that this will be the first Royal Rumble event that also features a women’s battle royal. It is a testament to the work put into the women’s divisions by the organization and by the competitors over the past few year’s that they can field a Royal Rumble. Look for odds for that and for Lesnar’s Triple Threat match to pop up closer to fight time.
