Four key positions the Titans should address this offseason

The Tennessee Titans enter the offseason at a crossroads, with multiple areas on the roster in need of attention if they hope to take a step forward next season. Among the most pressing concerns are upgrades at wide receiver and cornerback, two positions that strongly influence both the passing game and pass defense. Addressing those spots, along with other key areas of the depth chart, will be central to the team’s plans in the coming months.

Wide receiver stands out as one of the primary needs. Tennessee must strengthen its ability to threaten defenses through the air and create more consistent separation on the perimeter and in the slot. An improved receiving corps would give the coaching staff more flexibility in designing the passing attack and would provide a more reliable set of options in critical situations. Adding receivers with strong route-running skills, dependable hands, and the ability to generate yards after the catch would help diversify the offense and open up the field.

Cornerback is another position that warrants close attention. The demands of defending modern NFL passing offenses are high, and teams must be able to line up multiple capable corners who can match different types of receivers. Tennessee will look to bolster its coverage options on the outside and in the slot, seeking players with the technique, speed, and awareness to hold up in man and zone responsibilities. Strengthening this group would help limit explosive plays, improve red zone defense, and create more opportunities for takeaways.

Beyond wide receiver and cornerback, the Titans also have other areas that typically come under review in an offseason. Teams frequently examine depth and long-term stability along the offensive line, where protection and run blocking are critical to sustaining drives and keeping the quarterback upright. Front offices also regularly evaluate defensive front seven roles, seeking to apply more pressure on opposing passers and shore up run defense.

Special teams, rotational depth, and developmental prospects at several positions often round out an organization’s priorities. Tennessee’s approach will likely balance immediate contributors with longer-term pieces who can grow into larger roles. How successfully the Titans address their top needs, led by wide receiver and cornerback, will do much to shape expectations for the upcoming season and beyond.
