Free Baseball Picks – New York Yankees Favored at Home on Sunday vs. Toronto Blue Jays on TBS

Baseball Betting:  The New York Yankees will look to hand the Toronto Blue Jays yet another loss in the Bronx when the two teams meet on Sunday in a contest that can be seen on TBS.  It has been a house of horrors for the Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium as they had dropped the last 16 meetings before this series began.  The pitching matchup for Sunday has J.A. Happ scheduled for Toronto while New York goes with Chase Whitley.  Let’s look at the matchup and free baseball picks.

Happ vs. Whitley

J.A. Happ is 8-5 on the season with a 4.55 ERA. He started the season really well but then struggled and now he is pitching better again. He had his sixth quality start of the season last time out as he held the Boston Red Sox down.  Happ is also keeping the ball in the yard as he has not allowed a home run in his last 25.2 innings. He has a 2-2 career mark against New York with a 5.22 ERA.

Chase Whitley should be getting the call for the Yankees on Sunday night. He is 4-3 on the season with a 4.60 ERA.  He pitched really well on Tuesday as he held the Texas Rangers to no runs on just seven hits in six innings.  He didn’t get the decision in a game that the Yankees won in extra innings.

Game Notes

As noted earlier, Toronto has struggled mightily in New York in recent seasons.  Before this series began they had lost a staggering 16 straight in the Bronx.  They did beat the Yankees twice in Toronto last month but winning in New York simply hasn’t happened. Toronto has not won a game at Yankee Stadium since 2012.  Four of the last six in New York have gone under the total.

Free Baseball Picks

When you think of the Blue Jays and Yankees you think offense but neither of these teams is scoring many runs of late.  The Blue Jays are still without Edwin Encarnacion who won’t return until next week and the Yankees simply don’t score many runs, even at home. We’ll look for this game to go under the total.
