FC AUGSBURG

After a relatively solid start of the new Bundesliga,  season the Fuggers have slowed down a bit with only one victory in last seven rounds. Last win at home came almost two months ago against strong RB Leipzig squad meaning that they have the juice and the knowledge to emerge victorious against almost every team. Last week’s expected 3:0 loss at Allianz Arena should sober up the players because it’s time to get out of this period of underperforming.

They currently rank at No. 10 spot in the Bundesliga table with 16 points and 4-4-4 record (2-2-2 at home). Their goal difference is 16-14 (9-7 at home soil) and 67% of their overall duels had over 2.5 goals in total while 33% of their home games had over 2.5 goals at half-time. Both team scored in every second FC Augsburg’s matchup and most common score at home was a 2:1 loss (occurred twice). Alfred Finnbogason and Michael Gregortisch top the team in scoring with five goals each while defender Philipp Max tops the team in assists with five.

Sergio Cordova (ankle) is expected to be available later this month while Rani Khedira (muscle), Georg Teigl (back) and Moritz Leitner (ankle) are listed as day to day. Joannis Gelios (back) and Martin Hinteregger (ankle) are back in training.

VFL WOLFSBURG

After setting a new record in the number of consecutive draws in Bundesliga (seven), the Wolves managed to put out a stellar performance last Saturday at Volkswagen Arena and take down underperforming Freiburg squad, 3:1. Besides top ranked Bayern Munich team, they are currently riding the longest undefeated streak in the league (eight games) and they look bound to step in to the battle for the upper part of the league table.

They are 2-8-2 (1-3-1 on the road) with 14 points earned that puts them at the No. 13 spot in the Bundesliga ranking at the moment. Their goal difference is 16-17 (6-6 on the road) and 58% of their overall matches had under 2.5 goals it total while 40% of their road duels had over 3.5 goals in total. Most common score on the road was 2:2 draw (occurred twice) while both teams scored in 75% of their overall showdowns. Divock Origi tops the team in scoring with four goals while Daniel Didavi, besides three goals scored, has six assists in his account (most in the league).

Jakub Blaszczykowski’s (back) and Ignacio Camacho’s (ankle) status is unknown while Marvin Stefaniak (thigh), Sebastian Jung (ankle) and Christian Trasch (unknown) are listed as day to day. Adelino Vierinha (ankle) should be available in few days.

FC Augsburg vs. VFL Wolfsburg – Match Prediction

It will be very interesting to see how will the Wolfsburg squad react after finally recording a victory and will they use it as a boost or certain decrease of concentration will take place. This is why I won’t go with final score pick in this game meaning that there will not be an additional pick. Only fairly good path here is under 2.5 goals in total.

My pick: Under 2.5 goals (-116)

RB Leipzig vs. SV Werder Bremen

Three-Way: 1: RB Leipzig -167; X: +390 Draw; 2: SV Werder Bremen +570 at BetDSI Sportsbook

Spread -1: RB Leipzig -119; SV Werder Bremen +119

Total +3: Over -125; Under +120

 RB LEIPZIG

The Bulls are coming off from a very successful midweek in Europa as they outclassed the French side AS Monaco team on the road with a 4:1 win on Tuesday. They’ve secured the spot No. 3 in the group G of UEFA Champions League and they’ still have a chance of advancing to the knockout stage but they’ll need some results to go their way in the last round that will take place on December 6. In domestic competition, team has five wins in last seven games and they rank at No. 3 spot in the league table at the moment with 23 points earned.

They are 7-2-3 (4-1-0 at home) and their goal difference is 20-15 (11-5 at Red Bull Arena). 58% of their overall matches had over 2.5 goals in total while 40% of their home duels had over 3.5 goals in total. Both teams scored in 58% of their games and the most common score at home is 2:1 win (occurred twice). Timo Werner tops the team in scoring with seven goals while Marcel Sabitzer collected team-high three assists so far.

Marcel Sabitzer’s (shoulder) status is unknown while Marcel Halstenberg (unknown), Stefan Ilsanker (toe) and Fabio Coltorti (muscle) are listed as day to day.

SV WERDER BREMEN

Three months and 12 rounds of play were needed in order to Werder Bremen team records its first victory of the season and they finally made it. The squad that paid the price was Hannover 96 (4:0 win). Now, they’ll face a much stronger opponent but they might have a chance because Leipzig had a midweek matchup on the European scene and their players are probably more tired than Bremen’s.

Team currently ranks at the No. 16 spot on the Bundesliga table, just below the relegation line with eight points earned and a 1-5-6 record (0-4-2 on the road). Their goal difference is 8-14 (3-5 on the road) and 83% of their road games had under 2.5 goals in total while only one matchup so far had over 3.5 goals in total (last week’s 4:0 win). Both teams scored in every second Werder’s road game and most common score on the road were 1:1 and 0:0 draw (both occurred twice). Max Kruse tops the team in scoring with three goals while Fin Bartels has two in his account. Bartels is also team’s leading assister with two.

Justin Eilers’s (cruciate ligament) timetable for return is set at January next year while Aron Johannsson’s (knee) and Michael Zetterer’s (wrist) status is unknown.

RB Leipzig vs. SV Werder Bremen –Match Prediction.

Last season’s matchups between these two foes were dominated by the home teams (3:1 win in Leipzig, 3:0 win in Bremen). Prior to this matchup, both teams had a pretty successful performances and it’s a big question which one of them can continue with it. The home team has a big advantage in front of their own crowd but they could also be a little weary having in mind the battle on two fronts. My safe pick here would be to go with the under 3.5 goals.

My pick: Under 3.5 goals (-137)
