The Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics had a fairly competitive seven-game series, but in the end it looked like the better team won. Boston advanced with a 112-96 win at TD Garden Saturday. Giannis Antetokounmpo, however, thinks his team was superior.

“I thought we were the better team,” Giannis said, according to ESPN. “But, unfortunately, we cannot move to the second round. But it was a good series. But we have a better team.”

Giannis is hoping the Bucks will bring back that team. Jabari Parker will be a restricted free agent this summer, and though Parker has struggled to play like his old self since tearing his ACL, he experienced a mini-resurgence in the playoffs. Giannis sees him coming back.

“Jabari ain’t going nowhere,” Antetokounmpo said, according to the Journal-Sentinel. “He’s going to be here and he’s going to be ready for next season. And we will be all excited and playing in the new arena. And everyone is going to be having fun.”

After the Bucks failed to live up to expectations in 2017-18, Giannis is focused on the team taking a step forward.

“That’s what I care about,” he said. “I care about coming back and winning games, that’s it. At the end of the day, you’ve got to draw a line…‘Can you help me? Can you not?’ Overall, our goal is to be one the best teams in the East, win a championship.”

Wizards Better Than Raps?

Giannis isn’t the only player who has been eliminated from the playoffs but thinks his team was superior to its opponent. Washington’s Markieff Morris said something similar as he reflected on the Wizards’ six-game first-round loss to Toronto.

Giannis has a fair case, though I disagree with him. Morris? Not so much. The Wizards might have an equal amount of talent on the roster, but the Raptors were clearly the superior team.
