Even without Kevin Durant in the lineup, the Golden State Warriors showed that they were still the best team in the NBA with a series clinching win over the Houston Rockets in Game 6 last night. Golden State is looking to win its fourth title in five seasons, and they continue to be the odds-on favorites. Below, we’ll take a closer look at Game 6, preview the two Game Sevens set for Sunday, and provide some injury updates.

Stephen Curry went off in the second half to lead Golden State past Houston and into the Western Conference Finals for a fifth straight season last night. Curry scored all 33 of his points in the second half after a dreadful shooting performance in the first half, and he iced the game with 16 points in the final five minutes. It was a gutty performance, as Curry has struggled shooting since dislocating his finger in Game 2.

Kevin Durant may be able to return for the Western Conference Finals, but the Warriors look set to pick up a boost regardless as DeMarcus Cousins is close to recovering from a torn quad. Cousins would provide Golden State with another big body up front, and he could have a big series against either Denver or Portland. Reserve center Damian Jones might return later in the series too.

Frank Vogel has emerged as the frontrunner to be the new Lakers’ head coach after discussions with Tyronn Lue fizzled. Vogel and the Lakers are expected to talk again soon, and we could see an official announcement next week.

Toronto and Philadelphia have been here before. The 76ers are coming to the Great White North for Game 7 against the Raptors on Sunday, and if the past is any indication, Sixers fans can start celebrating. Between this tidbit, playoff Lowry, and Drake potentially attending Game 7, fading the Raptors might be a good idea.

If you haven’t been paying much attention to Denver and Portland, you’ve been missing out. This has been the best series of the conference semifinals, with Nikola Jokic and Damian Lillard giving us some massive performances, and things have gotten a little spicy among the bench players too.
