Burroughs starts Podcast #42 by discussing the last two week’s of action in the world of golf. Hideki Matsuyama made it two in-a-row at the Waste Management Phoenix Open by beating Webb Simpson in a playoff. It was the Japanese stars third win of the year. In Europe, Sergio Garcia won for the 11th time on the European Tour by going wire-to-wire at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

Last week on the European Tour, Fabrizio Zanotti fired a final round 63 to nip American David Lipsky by a stroke to claim his second title. On the PGA Tour, Jordan Spieth showed remarkable ball-striking to win by four strokes at the AT&T Pebble beach Pro-Am. It was Spieths ninth career win. The PGA Champions Tour was back in action in Boca Raton, Florida for the Allianz Championship that saw Scott McCarron eagle the last hole and win for the second time in little over a year.

Burroughs makes his picks for the week as well as helping you set your fantasy team. His picks are 19-7-4 on the year. Our host discusses this week’s action on all the tours across the world. The European Tour is off to Perth Australia for the ISPS HANDA World Super 6. The PGA Tour wraps up the West Coast Swing and heads to Los Angeles for the 2017 Genesis Open and the LPGA Tour travels to Australia for the ISPS HANDA Women’s Championship. The PGA Champions goes to Naples, Florida for the Chubb Classic.

Burroughs Picks for Genesis Open:

Jordan Spieth vs. Dustin Johnson

This will be one of the power matchups this week and Spieth will likely be a small favorite after his win last week at Pebble Beach, BUT Johnson is the play here. Spieth missed the cut last year that included an opening round career worst 79. Johnson is a horse for this course and always is in the top five, including last year where he tied for fourth. Johnson finished T2 in 2015 and solo second in 2014. Johnson is due and an easy winner against Spieth in the golf matchups.

SLEEPER: Martin Laird +4000 is playing solid golf week after week and makes for a nice play this week. The Scot has two top tens in his last three starts – T7 in Phoenix and T9 in Palm Springs. He finished T11 last year in LA and check this stat out – he’s played 21 of 23 rounds in 2017 at par or better, that included 17 straight rounds under par.

TV Coverage: Genesis Open – Golf Channel – Thursday-Friday, 2-6 p.m. ET. Saturday, 1-2:30 p.m. – Golf Channel, 3-6:00 p.m. – CBS. Sunday, 1-2:30 – Golf Channel, 3-6:30, CBS.

Our host wraps up Podcast #42 by talking about Tiger Woods struggles and gives his opinion on if the former No. 1 player will even play again at all.
