Golf Undigested Podcast – Episode 54

Golf Undigested

The Golf Undigested Podcast with Clark Burroughs, a former PGA Tour player and proud Ohio State Buckeye, dishes out his latest news and musings in the world of golf. For all the latest golf odds and predictions, never miss an episode of Burroughs’ insightful advice and hilarious observations into the greatest game of all, GOLF!

Burroughs starts Podcast #54 by taking us through last week’s action at THE PLAYERS Championship where Si Woo Kim came out of nowhere to steal the show. The 21-year old South Korean phenom trailed third round leader J.B. Holmes by three strokes entering the final round. Kim was flawless on Sunday, firing a bogey-free 69 to win by three and earn his second PGA Tour win. In the process, Kim became just the third player to have two wins before turning 22 years old – the other two are – Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

Burroughs makes his picks for the week as well as helping you set your fantasy team. Our host record stands at 59-38-7 for the year. Burroughs dishes on this week’s action on all the tours across the world.

This week the PGA Tour returns to the Lone Star State for the AT&T Byron Nelson. Defending champion, Sergio Garcia is joined by World No. 1 Dustin Johnson, Jason Day and Jordan Spieth as the headliners.

Across the pond on the European Tour, The Rocco Forte Open makes its inaugural start on the schedule. The LPGA heads to Williamsburg, Virginia for the Kingsmill Championship and the Champions PGA Tour has their first major of the year in Birmingham, Alabama at the Regions Tradition.

Burroughs Predictions for the AT&T Byron Nelson

Brooks Koepka -115 vs. Jason Day -115

Two players going in the wrong direction. After starting the year out slow, Koepka figured it out and is playing world class golf on a weekly basis and is due to jump in the winners circle. Day has personal issues, injury concerns and is not playing like a top ranked player. Koepka is by far the better player right now. I’m all over Koepka!

PICKS to WIN:

BROOKS KOEPKA +1500

He’s getting real close to putting it all together. After an equipment change in the off season, Koepka started the year out real slow and some were starting to wonder about him, but the ex-FSU star has turned things around. His last five starts go like this; T9 – T11 – 2 – T5 – T16. That’s solid and consistent. Only thing missing is a win and he could get that this week where he lost in a playoff a year ago.

FLIER:

KEVIN TWAY +4950 is finally playing the type of golf we thought he would after having an outstanding amateur career at Oklahoma State. He didn’t play last week but in his last three starts, he has three top five finishes. That’s strong! Look for Tway to keep the peddle down and churn out another top finish, if not, his first career win.

Burroughs wraps up No. 54 by giving a tip on how to get rid of the shanks!
