Hofstra Pride vs. Maryland Terrapins Betting Prediction

The Pride come in on a high note after dismantling the North Carolina A&T Aggies in their last outing, 92-72. The Pride had a much better free throw rate (0.463 vs. 0.260) and had a much better turnover percentage (14.2 vs. 25.1). With 22 points on 6-for-9 shooting, Justin Wright-Foreman was the top scorer from either team.

In the Terrapins’ previous game, they easily got past the North Carolina A&T Aggies, 82-59. The Terrapins had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (39.5 vs. 18.9) and had a better free throw rate (0.152 vs. 0.115). Bruno Fernando was the top scorer from either team with 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the field.

The high-octane offense of Maryland will clash against the mid-tier defense of Hofstra. Since last season, the Terrapins rank 76th in offensive efficiency, while the Pride are 309th in defensive efficiency. The Terrapins figure to have the edge on that end of the court. The Pride should be expected to protect the ball well. They rank 24th at avoiding errors (turnover percentage of 15.7 percent), while the Terrapins have forced the 53rd-fewest turnovers in the country (opponents’ turnover percentage of 16.7 percent).
