Hot Streaks – Teams to Bet On In The MLS

With New York City at the top of the Eastern Conference, and Sporting Kansas City leading the way on the West, the MLS continues this weekend with eleven games on a schedule including a big game between New York City and FC Dallas set for this Sunday, April 29th, 2018, at Yankee Stadium in New York.

Some teams are on the run, and their fixtures over the weekend look quite interesting, so let’s take a look at the hottest streaks in the MLS at the moment.

MLS HOT STREAKS

  • Vancouver Whitecaps lost three games in a row
  • Minnesota lost four matches in a row
  • Orlando City won four consecutive games
  • FC Dallas is the only unbeaten team left in the league

MLS Hot Streaks

VANCOUVER WHITECAPS vs. REAL SALT LAKE

3-Way: 1: Vancouver Whitecaps -105; X: +260 Draw; 2: Real Salt Lake +275 at BetDSI Sportsbook

Spread -0.5: Vancouver Whitecaps -105; Real Salt Lake -110

Total +2.5: Over -130; Under +110

After a good start of the season and winning three out of their first five games, the Caps were beaten three times in a row, including a 2-1 defeat against Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto, while in the previous round they were demolished 6-0 by Sporting Kansas City.

Vancouver’s defense is the worst in the league conceding 17 goals in eight matches, so the Caps need to bounce back as soon as possible, and it seems like they have a good matchup here, as Real Salt Lake has earned only one point out of their three away games so far, scoring two goals in the process, and conceding eight in a return.

The hosts will probably miss the midfielder Jordon Mutch due to a muscle injury, while the striker Kei Kamara who scored three goals in five apps thus far is doubtful with a groin injury. On the other side, the visitors will miss a couple of defenders, as Demar Phillips (malleolar) and Marcelo Silva (groin) are both sidelined for this game.

MY PICK: Vancouver Whitecaps to Win (-105)

MINNESOTA vs. HOUSTON DYNAMO

3-Way: 1: Minnesota +175; X: +250 Draw; 2: Houston Dynamo +145 at BetDSI Sportsbook

Spread 0: Minnesota +105; Houston Dynamo -125

Total +3: Over -106; Under -112

Minnesota was beaten 3-1 by Seattle Sounders on the road in the previous round of the MLS, recording fourth straight defeat, so they’ve dropped to the 10th spot of the Western Conference with six points, a 2-0-5 record, and a 9:15 goal difference.

Three out of these four losses came on the road, so the Loons are certainly happy with coming back home, but the clash against Houston Dynamo will be another tough task for them. The Orange Crush has crashed the defending champions Toronto 5-1 in the previous round, putting an end to a four-game winless streak, while four out of their last five tilts had at least three goals in the total.

The hosts have some injury problems among the squad, as the forwards Kevin Molino (two goals in two apps) and Ethan Finlay (two goals in seven apps) are both doubtful for the next match, while the visitors will probably miss the centre-back Philippe Senderos and the left-back Kevin Garcia, both due to muscle injuries.

MY PICK: Over 3 Goals (-106)

COLORADO RAPIDS vs. ORLANDO CITY

3-Way: 1: Colorado Rapids +100; X: +265 Draw; 2: Orlando City +250 at BetDSI Sportsbook

Spread -0.5: Colorado Rapids +100; Orlando City -120

Total +3: Over +115; Under -135

Orlando City is playing in a tremendous form recently, winning four games in a row, while scoring at least two goals in each of these four tilts. The Lions attack is looking pretty sharp at the moment, but on the other hand, their defense has allowed nine goals in the previous five games, keeping the clean sheet only against Philadelphia Union in a 2-0 victory.

They will meet Colorado Rapids on this Sunday, who are in a good form in front of the home fans, winning two consecutive encounters on the home soil without conceding, so the bookies put the market on both teams to score here at -170.

The Rapids will probably miss the winger Marlon Hairston because of a knee injury, while the Lions will be without their captain Jonathan Spector at the back.

MY PICK: Over 3 Goals (+115)

NEW YORK CITY vs. FC DALLAS

3-Way: 1: New York City -130; X: +285 Draw; 2: FC Dallas +320 at BetDSI Sportsbook

Spread -0.5: New York City -130; FC Dallas +105

Total +3: Over +105; Under -125

FC Dallas still stands undefeated, earning three wins and three draws in their first six games of the season, while their defense is the best in the MLS at the moment, allowing just three goals thus far. They’ve played only one match away from home, beating New England Revolution 1-0, so the clash against the Bronx Blues will be a proper test of their abilities.

The forwards Maximiliano Urruti and Roland Lamah both have scored three goals each so far, and this duo will lead Toros’frontline on Sunday, while the experienced defender Maynor Figueroa (knee) and the keeper Jesse Gonzalez (finger) are both doubtful due to injuries.

On the other side, New York City suffered the first loss of the season on last weekend, losing 3-0 to Portland Timbers on the road, despite having the ball on their feet for 75% of the time. The Bronx Blues are still topping the Eastern Conference table with 17 points, a 5-2-1 record, and a goal difference of 16:9, while six out of their eight matches had more than two goals in the total.

They’ve won all three games on the home soil so far, beating Real Salt Lake (4-0), Orlando City (2-0), and Los Angeles Galaxy (2-1). For the next fixture versus Toros, the manager Patrick Vieira will probably miss the winger Ismael Tajouri-Shradi (four goals in seven apps) due to a muscle injury, but his eventual comeback could be a huge boost.

MY PICK: New York City to Win (-130)
