Indy Car odds:  It’s another Grand Prix doubleheader weekend for the IndyCar Series as they will run on the streets of Houston, TX and Reliant Park on June 28 and June 29 with coverage on NBCSN.  Will Power is leading the IndyCar Standings with Helio Castroneves, Ryan Hunter Reay, Simon Pagenaud, Marco Andretti, rookie Carlos Munoz, Juan Pablo Montoya, Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan, and Justin Wilson rounding out the top 10 of the standings.   Ed Carpenter is coming off a win in the last Indy Car race that took place at the Texas Motor Speedway on June 7 in the Firestone 600.

Shell and Pennzoil Grand Prix of Houston at Reliant Park Overview

There have been various Grand Prix events on the streets of Houston and at Reliant Park as Champ and IndyCar ran there from 1998-2001 and again in 2006 and 2007 before an inactive period that lasted until IndyCar returned in 2013 as Scott Dixon and Will Power were the winners at an October weekend double header last year.  The race is a total of 147.06 miles and 90 laps.  The race course is a combination of asphalt and concrete with 10 turns and a length of 1.634 miles.

Top Houston Drivers

Since this Grand Prix was initiated last year with a doubleheader run the drivers all have just 2 career starts at Houston with Scott Dixon posting a circuit best average finish of 1.5 with a win and 2 top 5 finishes.  Justin Wilson also has 2 top 5 finishes with an average finish of 3.5.

The Pick

We’ll ride along with Scott Dixon in this one!
