Indy Car Picks: The Iowa Speedway will be the venue for Saturday night’s IndyCar race as the Iowa Corn 300 will take place with coverage on NBCSN starting at 8 PM ET. James Hinchcliffe took the checkers last year for Andretti Autosport, as the Andretti team has won the last four IndyCar races at Iowa with Ryan Hunter Reay winning in 2012, Marco Andretti in 2011, and Tony Kanaan in 2010.

The Iowa Speedway is a D-shaped configuration with an asphalt surface that is 0.875 miles in length with turn banks ranging from 12 to 14 degrees with a frontstretch bank of 10 degrees and a backstretch banking of four degrees. The track opened in 2006 and has a seating capacity of 30,000.

The Indy Car standings feature a tie for first place with Will Power and Helio Castroneves each with 446 points followed by Simon Pagenaud at 402, Juan Pablo Montoya with 391, and Ryan Hunter Reay at 388. Montoya is coming off a win last week at Pocono as Power had a tough day and finished 10th with Castroneves finishing in second.
Top Drivers at Iowa Speedway
Marco Andretti is 7th in the standings and is yet to win a race this year as he has been frustratingly inconsistent. Andretti may find his groove at Iowa where he has seven career starts with one win and four top-five finishes and an average finish of 6.3.
Scott Dixon is in 8th place in the standings but has also shown well at Iowa with seven career starts with four top-five finishes and an average finish of 6.9.
