Interim Tottenham Hotspur head coach Igor Tudor has expressed complete confidence that the club will retain its place in the Premier League this season, stating he is “100 per cent” sure the team will avoid relegation.
Tudor, who recently took charge on an interim basis, addressed concerns about the club’s league position and the pressure surrounding the team. While acknowledging the challenges facing the squad, he maintained that the quality within the group and the work being done on the training ground will be enough to secure safety.
The coach referenced the current training situation, indicating that he has been working with a significantly reduced group of players in recent sessions. With only a limited number of first-team players available, Tudor has focused on tactical organisation, fitness, and maintaining a competitive mentality within the camp. He suggested that once the full squad is available, performances and results should improve.
Tudor emphasised that his approach is centred on clarity of roles and collective responsibility. He has urged his players to stay focused on each match rather than the broader league picture, believing that consistency in preparation and effort will ultimately be reflected in the table. According to Tudor, strong training habits and unity in the dressing room are crucial elements in navigating a difficult spell.
Although he did not disclose specific targets in terms of points or final position, Tudor underlined that the primary objective is to move away from the lower end of the table as quickly as possible. He framed the remaining fixtures as an opportunity for the squad to demonstrate resilience, respond to adversity and reconnect with supporters through committed performances.
The interim coach also suggested that experience within the squad would play an important role in the run-in, pointing to players who have previously handled pressure situations at club or international level. He believes those leaders can help guide younger teammates through the demands of the season’s decisive phase.
Tudor reiterated that he accepted the role fully aware of the expectations at Tottenham and the demands of the Premier League. He said the staff and players are united in their aim to secure the club’s top-flight status and to restore stability on and off the pitch in the weeks ahead.
