UFC Fight Night 127 Betting Odds  Jan Blachowicz (+170) vs. Jimi Manuwa (-200)

This is a very interesting fight based on some comments from favorite Jimi Manuwa back in late January. This is actually a rematch of a fight two years ago between the two, which Manuwa won comfortably by the scorecards. Manuwa has talked about his frustrations with the light heavyweight division and the fights that contenders are willing to take. Blachowicz was the only one willing to take this fight in England, so he steps into hostile territory as a big dog, going up against somebody he previously lost to. This line is certainly self-explanatory. But, Blachowicz knows what this fight means to Manuwa and what revenge means to him, so we’ll see if he can pull off an upset.

Blachowicz has won his last two fights over Jared Cannonier and Devin Clark. That was good to see after his losses to Patrick Cummins, Alexander Gustafsson, and Manuwa, with a win over Igor Pokrajac in between. Blachowicz has struggled when stepping up in class in this division. Manuwa hasn’t really been able to get the matches he wants. When he has, he has squandered his chances. He beats up lesser fighters and loses to top competition, like his first-round knockout loss to Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 214 and his UFC 191 loss to Anthony Johnson.

Pick & Prediction:  Jimi Manuwa(-200)

Blachowicz should be the more motivated fighter here, as Manuwa cannot really move up or down the ranks with a win. Blachowicz has the revenge angle here at the very least. The problem is Manuwa is just the better all-around fighter, and he proved that two years ago. Aside from age, not much has changed, and Blachowicz is at 35years old  himself..
