On Tuesday, the NBA officially unveiled the 2021-22 All-NBA teams. Two-time reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets was chosen to the First Team, along with Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, Luka Doni of the Dallas Mavericks, Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns, and Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics. Antetokounmpo was the only player to get votes on all 100 ballots for the All-NBA First Team.According to the league, this is the first time since the 1954-55 season that all members of the First Team are aged 27 or younger. On the basis of this statistic, it appears safe to assert that the league’s future is secure. Dončić is the fourth player in the history of the league to be named to the First Team at least three times before turning 24. Tim Duncan, Kevin Durant, and Max Zaslofsky comprised the remaining three players.
The Second Team is highlighted by center Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers, who led the league in scoring this season and finished second in MVP voting behind Jokic for the second consecutive year. Embiid was joined on the Second Team by Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant, Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, and Chicago Bulls big DeMar DeRozan. Durant has now received ten All-NBA honors.
