Chelsea have unveiled their new home kit for the 2026-27 season after a stealthy teaser campaign in which the shirt was reportedly “spotted in the wild.” The club used a series of public appearances by well-known figures to build interest ahead of the official release.
Images circulated on social media showed the unreleased design being worn by an array of celebrities, including golfer Justin Rose, who turned up at the PGA Championship in Pennsylvania in the shirt. The club also staged photos of Rose, and similar sightings involved NBA player Jordan Poole, UFC fighter Chito Vera, U.S. singer-songwriter Noah Kahan and Brazilian hip-hop artist MC Hariel, who wore the blue shirt on stage at a music festival in São Paulo.
The kit’s design draws on Chelsea’s historic rampant lion emblem, a feature of the club crest since the 1950s. For 2026-27 the club has modernised the crest, removing the outer shield and lettering to leave a silhouetted lion clutching a golden staff on the chest.
Rather than abandoning the traditional roundel entirely, the full Chelsea crest — as originally drawn by former manager Ted Drake on his arrival at Stamford Bridge in 1953 — has been incorporated into the fabric. The roundel has been enlarged and applied as a background texture within the material of the shirt.
Trim elements have been finished in a matching yellow-gold tone, including piping, the logos and Nike’s ruffle-ready shoulder seams. The shirt will also carry the FIFA Club World Cup winners’ badge next season, marking the club’s recent global achievement.
