Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks will be played at Madison Square Garden on Monday night (8:30 p.m. ET, ABC), and ticket prices for the New York stop are unusually high.
According to Vivid Seats, the cheapest single ticket for Game 3 was $3,940, fees included, as of 1:30 p.m. Monday. The ticket marketplace listed an average sold price of $7,683 as of Monday morning, and reported the most expensive ticket sold by that time was roughly $65,000.
Vivid Seats also showed the priciest ticket still available in the 19,812-seat arena at $30,970.
The Knicks enter the game up 2-0 in the series and will host a Finals game while leading the series for only the third time in franchise history, according to ESPN Research. New York is appearing in its first NBA Finals since 1999 and is on a 12-game winning streak, ESPN Research added.
With the Finals shifting to the East Coast and demand concentrated in Manhattan, the market for Knicks tickets at Madison Square Garden has tightened noticeably as the series returns to New York.
