Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick are Co-Favorites to Win Sunday’s Kobalt 400

Johnson and Harvick are the Top Choices to Win in Vegas.

NASCAR Betting Odds: Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick are co-favorites to win the Kobalt 400 on Sunday that can be seen on FOX. Johnson won last week in Atlanta while Harvick finished second. Each driver is listed with odds of 5-1 to win Sunday’s race in Las Vegas. Let’s look at the race and NASCAR predictions.

Top Contenders

Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick are the clear favorites to win this race with odds of 5-1 and then it is Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano with odds of 8-1. Johnson has won this race four times and his average finish of 9.2 is tied for the best in race history. He was really good last week in Atlanta and he figures to contend on Sunday. His main competition figures to come from Harvick even though Harvick has never won in Vegas. His best finish was a second in 2010.

Gordon won this race in 2001 and he is very capable of winning in Vegas in his final season. Kenseth is a three-time winner of this race so he has to be given a real chance to win. It is tough to get too excited about Logano or Keselowski based on how they did last week in Atlanta.

Live Darkhorses

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is listed with odds of 9-1 while Carl Edwards is 10-1. Kasey Kahne is listed at 12-1 with Denny Hamlin at 15-1. No other driver is listed with odds of less than 25-1. Of these four, it would seem that Earnhardt Jr. is overdue for a win considering he should have won last year if not running out of gas on the final lap.

Longshots

You may want to avoid the longshots in this race as no driver in the history of races in Las Vegas has ever won with odds greater than 20-1. That means it is tough to like drivers like Kyle Larson, Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Jamie McMurray, Clint Bowyer, Brian Vickers and Martin Truex Jr. even though they do have a chance.

No Real Chance

The odds on David Ragan are 45-1 while Greg Biffle and Paul Menard are listed at 60-1. Everyone else is part of the field which is listed at 20-1.

NASCAR Predictions

It is already looking like Johnson and Harvick are going to dominate this season with other contenders like Earnhardt Jr. and Matt Kenseth right behind. I will go against the two favorites this week and instead take Gordon and Earnhardt Jr. And if you want a feel good longshot, how about Brian Vickers at NASCAR betting odds of 40-1, as he returns this week.
