La Liga Fantasy: Week 10 Lineup

There are four games on the schedule in La Liga for this Saturday but only three of those games will be featured in DraftKings competitions. DraftKings remains focused on the big three with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid all in action, opting not to include the matchup between Sevilla and Sporting Gijon. That leaves us with six rosters to choose from when it comes to building a winning La Liga fantasy lineup and thankfully we still have lots of options to chose from. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Saturday’s DraftKings La Liga fantasy leagues.

GK: Jan Oblak, Atletico Madrid

Salary: $6,000

Oblak is the highest-ranked La Liga fantasy goalkeeper so far this season and he is in a great position to add to his points total with Atletico Madrid set to take on Malaga on Saturday. Oblak is easily the most expensive goalkeeper option on the board but he is definitely worth his price tag in DraftKings competitions.

D: Raphael Varane, Real Madrid

Salary: $3,500

Sergio Ramos is Real Madrid’s top producing fantasy defender so far this season but he is dealing with an injury so we have no problem turning to Varane in this spot. Varane has the second-best fantasy score of any Real Madrid defender other than Ramos and he should be a strong option once again this weekend when they take on Alaves.

D: Stefan Savic, Atletico Madrid

Salary: $3,400

Savic is another underrated value option on the back end for this weekend’s DraftKings competitions as he should provide a decent La Liga fantasy score at a strong value. By locking in two quality sleeper defenders, we will have that much more money left over to spend on attacking players.

M: Yannick Carrasco, Atletico Madrid

Salary: $7,800

Carrasco actually owns the best fantasy score among all La Liga midfielders heading in to this weekend’s action and the fact that we don’t have to break the bank to get him in our lineup makes him that much more appealing. Atletico Madrid should have the edge in its matchup with Malaga and Carrasco will be front and center in everything they do at the attacking end of the pitch.

M: Toni Kroos, Real Madrid

Salary: $7,300

Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are always options to go off but with Kroos producing the second-best fantasy score among La Liga midfielders to this point in the season at just $7.3K he is an easy option to lock in to our lineup. Kroos has the potential to deliver another multi-point performance on Saturday and the fact that he is available at such a ridiculously low price makes him a must-own in all DraftKings competitions.

F: Lionel Messi, Barcelona

Salary: $9,800

Barcelona’s attacking players should feast on a Granada defense that has allowed a league-worst 17 goals this season and Messi will be front and center in the onslaught. Messi is back at full health and will have an excellent opportunity to deliver one of his trademark multi-point performances on Saturday.

F: Antoine Griezmann, Atletico Madrid

Salary: $8,500

Griezmann has carried over his strong play from his time with France at the Euro Cup and has been a steady performer for Atletico Madrid so far this season. Griezmann has the potential to score points in bunches and this weekend could be another opportunity to deliver a vintage performance versus Malaga. Atletic Madrid is currently in fifth place in the standings with 18 points through nine games. They’ve allowed just four goals in nine games this season.

FLEX: Samuel Umtiti, Barcelona

Salary: $3,400

Injuries to Jordi Alba, Jeremy Mathieu and Gerard Pique will open the door for Umtiti make an impact for Barcelona this weekend and he jumps in to the perfect situation. Barcelona should have no problem keeping a Granada side that owns the worst record in La Liga off the board and that makes Umtiti the perfect fit as our FLEX option for Saturday’s DraftKings La Liga competitions. Barcelona has been an excellent option for La Liga fantasy in terms of offensive weapons. They have tallied 29 goals this season in nine games. That paces the Spanish Primera; the second-best total is 24 and only two other teams are in the 20’s.
