La Liga Fantasy: Week 17 Lineup

There are four games on the schedule for Saturday’s DraftKings La Liga fantasy competitions but we prefer to stick with the best of them and lean on Real Madrid’s favorable matchup with Granada for a heavy fantasy stack. The other matchups will be a lot closer to call so we like the idea of rallying around a heavy favorite to put ourselves in the best possible position to win. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for this week’s DraftKings La Liga Fantasy Leagues.

GK: Keylor Navas, Real Madrid

Salary: $6,000

Only Leganes and Osasuna have scored fewer goals than the 14 scored by Granada through 16 games this season. Real Madrid should have no problem keeping the Granada attack in check and if they do get a shot on target than Navas should be there to make the save. Navas should be a lock for the win with the potential to benefit from the clean sheet bonus. Real Madrid has allowed the second-fewest goals in La Liga this season.

D: Marcelo, Real Madrid

Salary: $5,300

Marcelo has been among the top fantasy defenders in the entire La Liga this season so we certainly expect a strong performance matched up against a Granada side that owns the second-worst record in La Liga this season.

D: Raphael Varane, Real Madrid

Salary: $3,600

With some fairly even matches across the board we will stick with another Real Madrid defender in Varane. While he doesn’t pack the same offensive upside as Marcelo, he is available at nearly $2K less and should be a solid option with the potential to benefit from the clean sheet bonus.

M: Toni Kroos, Real Madrid

Salary: $7,100

Kroos has been a fantasy force all season so it only makes sense that we turn back to him once again on Saturday. His low price tag makes him a strong value option and his stock for this week will be boosted by the fact that he is matching up against Granada.

M: Isco, Real Madrid

Salary: $6,500

Isco is slightly less expensive than Kroos but he can be just as dangerous with more opportunity against Granada. Real Madrid could easily score three or four goals in this game so we expect Isco to be in the mix up front.

F: Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid

Salary: $10,900

There is no way we could load up on an entire roster full of Real Madrid players without including Ronaldo on our team. Ronaldo has the potential to absolutely dominate up front so he should be a lock in every single La Liga fantasy lineup this weekend.

F: James Rodriguez, Real Madrid

Salary: $7,400

James is eligible to play at the midfield and the forward positions but because of his low price tag we prefer using him here up front. This Real Madrid stack will come full circle with James up front but based on the matchups for this weekend’s matchups we are clearly all-in. Real Madrid enters the week at the top of the Spanish Primera table. They have registered 37 points in just 15 games. They’re a team we often look to for La Liga fantasy purposes as they have notched 40 goals in those contests. That’s the second-most tallies in La Liga.

FLEX: Gimenez, Atletico Madrid

Salary: $3,200

The final FLEX spot on our roster is the first opportunity for us to move away from Real Madrid and look to Atletico for a strong value pick. Gimenez should deliver a fine performance in a low scoring game against Eibar so he should come through as a strong value option at just $3.2K in Saturday’s DraftKings tournaments. Atletico Madrid has had a very average year to this point as they’ve registered just 28 points in 16 games. Usually, they’re hanging out with the top three or four teams in the Spanish Primera, but they’re actually in sixth place right now. Their offense has been struggling a little bit as they’ve tallied 29 goals so far; that’s 11 less than Real Madrid and 12 less than Barcelona, which is the main reason why they’re so far off the pace from those two.
