La Liga Fantasy: Week 19 Lineup

The La Liga season continues this weekend with four games on the schedule for Saturday but as is usually the case DraftKings has selected the best three to be the focus for this week’s competitions. We narrowed our focus even further with one matchup in particular that stands out from a fantasy perspective with Real Madrid set to clash with Malaga on Saturday. Here is a look at this week’s DraftKings La Liga fantasy leagues.

GK: Keylor Navas, Real Madrid

Salary: $6,000

Navas has been a solid fantasy goalkeeper all season long and that should continue when they play Malaga this weekend. Real Madrid should have no problem earning the victory and the potential is there for a clean sheet bonus should Navas shut the door. Real Madrid enters the week in first place in the Spanish Primer as they have managed to net 40 points in 17 games. They have been an excellent option for La Liga fantasy at both ends of the pitch as they’ve tallied 46 goals in 17 games – the second-best number in La Liga – and they’ve allowed just 16 goals, which is the second-fewest.

D: Sergio Ramos, Real Madrid

Salary: $4,300

Ramos has the type of offensive upside we want in our defender options and he is still available at a very reasonable price. With Real Madrid a considerable favorite this weekend, it makes sense to roll with Ramos as our top option at the position. All signs point to him having a strong game with a quality fantasy output.

D: Raphael Varane, Real Madrid

Salary: $3,900

Varane doesn’t have the same offensive upside as Ramos but he is a sneaky good value play fro this weekend at under $4K. Real Madrid should be in a good position to register a lopsided win with Varane in position to benefit along with Ramos if they can earn clean sheet bonuses.

M: Toni Kroos, Real Madrid

Salary: $7,500

Kroos is Real Madrid’s highest scoring midfielder this season so there was never any doubt that we would use him this week. Real Madrid has the potential to score goals in bunches and Kroos should be right in the middle of the action.

M: Isco, Real Madrid

Salary: $6,900

Isco has been nearly as good as Kroos this season and he is available for a little less money, which makes him an even better value option this weekend. We are already all-in with our Real Madrid stack so Isco makes for an obvious fit.

F: Karim Benzema, Real Madrid

Salary: $9,000

We considered using Cristiano Ronaldo in this spot but his ridiculously high price tag makes him an unreasonable option for this weekend’s action. Benzema should fill in just fine as Real Madrid’s second best striker and as a forward that could be overdue for a big performance.

F: Nicola Sansone, Villarreal

Salary: $6,600

Our first venture away from the Real Madrid stack is for a capable striker available at a very reasonable price in Sansone, who is a strong value play at under $7K. Sansone can put up big fantasy point totals against Valencia this weekend so it makes sense to use him as our second striker option behind Benzema. Villarreal enters the week sixth place in the Spanish Primera as they’ve managed 32 points in 18 games. They’re usually the best team to look at for goal keepers in La Liga fantasy as they’ve given up just 12 goals so far this year. No other team has given up less. Atletico Madrid is in second place (14), Real Madrid is in third (16) and Barcelona comes in fourth in that category (17).

FLEX: Victor Ruiz, Villarreal

Salary: $3,500

Ruiz represents another strong value pick as a Villarreal defender available at under $4K. While we still have a decent amount of money left to address this position, Ruiz is an underrated option with high upside based on Villarreal’s potential to register a clean sheet win this weekend. Villarreal has been OK at the offensive end in La Liga fantasy but this is more of a matchup play. They have scored 26 goals in 18 games.
