Lakers News: LeBron James Responds to Criticism From Jazz Announcers

Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

There wasn’t much to celebrate last season for the Los Angeles Lakers.  After a promising start, the season quickly fell apart after LeBron James suffered a groin injury on Christmas Day against the Warriors.

This season however, has played out much differently.  With Anthony Davis as his running mate and a strong group of veterans, James is at the center of MVP discussions once again.  The Lakers share the best record in the NBA at 19-3 and boast a 10-1 record on the road.  The Lakers blew out the Utah Jazz last night to grab their 10th win away from Staples Center and LeBron gave fans a bit of an unusual highlight.

With the game winding down, James watched from the sideline as Kyle Kuzma blocked Tony Bradley twice on the same possession.  Unable to contain his excitement, James hopped onto the court with no shoes on.  The Jazz announcers were not pleased with James’ behavior, calling it disrespectful.

James had no shoes on because he signed and gifted them to a couple of young fans prior to Kuzma’s blocks.

The King took to Instagram Thursday morning to give his take on the situation:

Imagine doing your job at the highest level to where you’re not needed anymore, giving your shoes to a lil girl and boy who you inspire and hoped you made proud that night, then cheering on your teammates cause you love seeing them succeed more than yourself only to be criticized while doing it. People it’s the world we live in and you can’t let it ever stop you from your purpose in life. Negativity, bad energy, hate, envy, etc etc will try to bring you down throughout your journey and it’s up to you on how you handle it. I handle it by simply saying ‘Thank You’ with a 😁 on my face and continue to push forward while doing it! LIVE.LAUGH.LOVE 🙏🏾❤️👑”

The Lakers take their 10-1 road record to the Moda Center on Friday to face off against the Portland Trailblazers.  The Jazz host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.
