As the 2024 NFL regular season nears its conclusion, several franchises are beginning to assess potential changes in their coaching staffs. With Week 18 approaching, the league is seeing increased speculation about which teams might part ways with their current head coaches and who could be in consideration for new opportunities.

Around the league, a handful of underperforming teams are expected to evaluate their head coaching situations shortly after the season ends. While no official announcements have been made, several coaching seats remain under close scrutiny. Teams out of playoff contention or those who have fallen short of preseason expectations may be among those making leadership changes.

Among the names being linked to potential head coaching opportunities are Jeff Hafley and Chris Shula. Hafley, currently the head coach at Boston College, has gained attention for his defensive background and prior NFL experience. Shula, a defensive assistant with the Los Angeles Rams, is also being discussed as a potential candidate due to his growing reputation among coaching circles and his lineage within the NFL coaching community.

Front offices across the league are gathering information on candidates, and informal conversations are expected to ramp up in the coming days. Interviews for potential head coaches could begin as early as the Monday following Week 18, depending on when teams choose to move on from current staff members.

The hiring cycle is also expected to include a mix of experienced former head coaches and rising assistants. This year, teams are showing increased interest in candidates with strong player development skills and adaptability to modern game strategies.

While the full list of coaching changes will become clearer after the regular season concludes, fans can expect several teams to begin the search for new leadership quickly. The next two weeks may see significant developments across the NFL, setting the stage for offseason rebuilding and long-term planning.
