Throughout his career, LeBron James has delivered several standout performances at Madison Square Garden, one of basketball’s most iconic venues. As he prepares to face the New York Knicks again this Sunday, fans recall a series of memorable games James has had on the Garden floor.

One of his earliest landmark performances came on March 5, 2008, when he scored 50 points against the Knicks as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. In that game, James became the first visiting player since Michael Jordan to record at least 50 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds at Madison Square Garden. He finished with 50 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds, adding a layer of historical significance to the outing.

In another notable appearance on February 4, 2009, James nearly recorded a triple-double with 52 points, 11 assists, and 9 rebounds. There was some controversy over whether he actually achieved the triple-double, as an official stat change led to the removal of one rebound after the game. Regardless, his performance demonstrated his deep impact across all facets of the game.

On January 27, 2014, while playing for the Miami Heat, James returned to the Garden and scored 30 points in a 106-91 win over the Knicks. The performance included an array of mid-range jumpers and drives to the basket, underscoring James’ versatility and efficiency.

Later, as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, James had another strong performance on January 22, 2020, finishing with 21 points and 5 rebounds to help lead the Lakers past the Knicks. Although not one of his most statistically impressive performances, it extended his legacy of strong showings at Madison Square Garden.

Over the years, whether with the Cavaliers, Heat, or Lakers, LeBron James has consistently delivered in New York. His ability to rise to the occasion in one of basketball’s most storied arenas has been a hallmark of his storied NBA journey. As he takes the court again this Sunday, fans can expect another chapter to be written in his long history at the Garden.
