Live Blog: NFL Preseason – Texans at Saints on Fox

J.J. Watt should get a few shots at Brees in the first half.

Newly minted Houston Texans starting quarterback Brian Hoyer brings his team to New Orleans to face Drew Brees as the Saints for at least a full half of football today.

We’ve got a few subplots to this one. Obviously, this is the 10-year anniversary of Hurrican Katrina so you expect somebody to mention that. The Saints spent the offseason shedding offensive weapons, so everybody looking to draft Brandin Cooks has their fingers crossed. And if you’ve already drafted him, you’ve probably written a pretty big check to the Pope.

Ryan Mallett responded to his demotion with Houston by sleeping in this week. You’d think a guy like that would want to show the Texans that they made a mistake. This will be his chance.

The game is on Fox at 4 p.m. Let’s watch it together. I’ll try to make some jokes when I can.
