Los Angeles Clippers at Atlanta Hawks Betting Prediction

The Clippers will be looking for similar success after covering the 4-point spread against the Brooklyn Nets in their last outing, 127-119. The total points for the game (246) came in well over the O/U total of 221.5. Los Angeles’ 7.0 turnover percentage was their largest advantage over Brooklyn, who had a rate of 9.7. The Clippers’ mark was better than their season average of 12.6. Los Angeles was lifted by Tobias Harris, who had 27 points and eight rebounds.

In the Hawks’ last game, they fell to the Indiana Pacers, 97-89, but were able to cover as 11.5-point underdogs. The combined points for the game (186) finished well under the O/U total of 219. Indiana’s rebounding was their biggest advantage. The Pacers had more offensive rebounds (11 vs. five), defensive rebounds (43 vs. 36) and total rebounds (54 vs. 41). With 13 points and five rebounds, Kent Bazemore had a good performance for Atlanta.

After the Clippers won both meetings against the Hawks last season, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. In the last contest, Los Angeles won 108-107. One of Los Angeles’ biggest strengths was getting to the charity stripe. They made 34 trips to the line, while Atlanta went 29 times.

Los Angeles holds records of 10-5 straight up (SU) and 9-6 against the spread (ATS). Vegas tends to place the total low when the Clippers are playing, as 60.0 percent of their games have finished over the total.

Meanwhile, Atlanta is 3-13 SU and 7-9 ATS. It’s tough to find a trend for games involving the Hawks in regards to the total, as there has been an even split between games finishing over and under.

Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams have played well over the last five games for Los Angeles. Harrell has averaged 19 points,7.2 rebounds,1.8 blocks,1.2 steals per game. Not to be outdone, Williams has recorded 20 points,6.2 assists a game during that span.

Los Angeles could have their way on the offensive side of the ball as their productive offense squares off against one of the league’s worst defenses. The Clippers rank fifth in offensive efficiency while Atlanta ranks 22nd in defensive efficiency.
