The Clippers are searching for the ninth consecutive win over Sacramento at Golden 1 Center

The Los Angeles Clippers finally snapped the nine-game losing streak with a 116:103 road victory over the Atlanta Hawks, and now are traveling to California neighbors in the search for the tenth win in a row at the state capital. Doc River’s side is currently in the 12th position in the Western Conference with the 6-11 record, and how the things are going at the moment, the playoffs are just a dream for the Clippers, especially with all those injured players.

Los Angeles had a fantastic 57.9% from the field in Atlanta and excellent 50% from beyond the arc (15-30), so the hosts were unable to prevent the Clippers from getting a much-deserved win, as the Hawks weren’t even close in the final quarter. Blake Griffin led the Clippers with his first triple-double of the campaign, scoring 26 points (9-19 FG, 3-8 3PT, 5-8 FT) with ten rebounds, and ten assists and he also committed season-high six turnovers. Griffin’s all-around performance was much-needed, and it came at the best possible moment for Los Angeles, who faced tenth straight defeat. There is no doubt he is the player to watch when the Clippers visit Sacramento on Saturday as he should dominate the paint against the weak Kings’ frontcourt. Wes Johnson added a season-high 24 points, Lou Williams contributed with 20 points and eight dimes, but made six turnovers, while Austin Rivers ended the tilt with 18 points, five dishes, and a pair of steals. De’Andre Jordan dominated the air as he recorded a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds, along with game-high two blocks, and he and Griffin should own the paint in matchups with Zach Randolph and Willie Cauley-Stein. Williams and Rivers are also men to watch for the visitors, and I expect them o combine for at least 30 points on this one as they will undoubtedly play 35+ minutes here.

Doc Rivers is still without Milos Teodosic who will be out for the next few weeks, while he cannot count on Pat Beverley who is out for the season following a knee surgery he underwent a couple of days ago. Los Angeles has only Rivers, and Williams to fill the No.1 and No.2 spots as Jawun Evans and SindariusThornwell are not good enough to play a more significant role, so Doc Rivers is desperate to have the Serbian playmaker Teodosic back on the court as soon as possible.  Danilo Gallinari will miss another 3-5 days with a hip injury, and Wes Johnson will continue to serve as the starting small forward in the Italian’s absence.  The Clippers are scoring 105.59 points per contest on average (15th in the NBA), while they are allowing 106.35 points in return (17th in the NBA).

The Kings are looking for another home victory after four wins in five games

The Sacramento Kings are hoping to sink another team from the rival town of Los Angeles after they beat the Lakers 113:102 on Wednesday, but it will not be easy to do as they are without a home win over the Clippers since 2013. Dave Joerger’s side is in the 14th position in the Western Conference at the moment with the 5-13 record, which is not that bad considering how they were playing lately and some catastrophic losses they suffered.

Winning the opening quarter by 12 points played a big part in beating the Lakers, while excellent shooting from the field (55.3%) certainly help the Kings to record their fifth win of the season. Sacramento dominated the boards as they had 44 in opposite to the Lakers’ 31, who decided to go with a smaller lineup for most of the tilt, and that proved to be a bad decision for Luke Walton and Los Angeles. Willie Cauley-Stein led the Kings with season-high 26 points (10-14 FG, 6-8 FT), six rebounds, and a couple of steals, while Zach Randolph played the best game in Sacramento’s uniform, scoring the season-high 22 points along with seven boards, season-high seven assists, and game-high three thefts. Bogdan Bogdanovic contributed with 14 points, career-high seven dimes, and two steals, De’Aaron Fox had 13 points and four rebounds, while Frank Mason III chipped in with 11 points, career-high seven dishes, and five boards. George Hill was scoreless in 22 minutes on the floor, but I expect that to change on Saturday against the weakened Clippers’ backcourt, so Hill should bounce back after forgettable night. Fox, Mason, and Bogdanovic are also players to watch for the hosts rather than the big guys Randolph, Cauley-Stein, and SkalLabissiere, who could struggle against Jordan and Griffin in the paint.

Dave Joerger is delighted to have all players healthy and at his disposal, but he is still struggling to find the starting lineup, and the players are quite inconsistent, which directly reflects on the team’s record so far in the season. There are talented individuals in this squad such as Fox and Bogdanovic, among others, but they evidently need more time to adapt. The Kings are scoring 94.28 points per contest on average (30th in the NBA), while they are allowing 105.56 points in return (16th in the NBA). Sacramento is among the league’s top ten teams (8th) when it comes to perimeter shooting (36.98%).

Los Angeles Clippers at Sacramento Kings Trends & Prediction

The Clippers are 7-10 against the spread (4-5 away), while they are 7-9-1 on over/under (4-5 away), and although this one could go either way, and I am not sure who will get a victory. I believe Los Angeles can score at close to 110 points, which would be enough for OVER.

The Kings are 6-10-2 against the spread (5-3 home), while they are 9-9 on over/under (4-4 home), and given that the Clippers defense is far from convincing lately, I think the hosts can go in triple digits on this one, so I would suggest you play OVER.

My Pick: Pass

Total: Over 205 points (-110)
