LSU News: Tigers’ New Locker Room is Out of This World

The football facilities arms’ race was taken to another level when the LSU Tigers showed off their new locker rooms on Sunday night. LSU’s new facilities rival and may surpass those at Alabama and Clemson, and the university reported that the cost to renovate the Football Operations Building was a whopping $28 million. From the video that LSU football released on Sunday night, it looks like the Tigers got their money’s worth.

Former LSU greats and state-of-the-art features abound in the new building, and past and present Tigers alike celebrated the renovations.

Each locker comes with its own sleeping pod and television, and current LSU players were quick to voice their approval of their new digs on social media.

The reveal was something to remember too. Not too long after LSU debuted the new facility on Twitter, current Tigers’ players were able to see their new home for the first time. The celebration was uproarious and unanimously positive, and this is going to be a place that players won’t want to leave.

Leonard Fournette, Tyrann Mathieu, and Odell Beckham Jr. were among the recent greats immortalized in the new building, and all-time greats like Billy Cannon and Jerry Stovall are honored too.

According to USA Today, the renovations added 25,000 square feet to the building, and they are sure to make high school recruits smile with delight when they tour the facilities throughout the year.

LSU has won eight or more games in every season in the 21st Century, and the Tigers are seen as the second or third-best team in the SEC West again this year. The Tigers were picked to finish second in the SEC West by media members in Hoover last week, and there is plenty of optimism surrounding the program. LSU begins its season against Georgia Southern on August 31.
