MALAGA CF vs. REAL MADRID CF – SPANISH LA LIGA ROUND 38

Spanish La Liga

This time, the Spanish La Liga title battle has been stretched till the final match-day. Real Madrid needs just 1 point to win their first title in five years, as they are currently 3 points ahead of title rivals Barcelona.

Against Malaga, Zidane’s men will surely believe they can clinch the title. However, Malaga has been in very good form, especially at home, so Real will have their work cut out here. The pressure in this match will surely give us an enthralling contest, especially for the Madrid fans, as they would want their team to win the match with a good performance to lift the trophy.

MALAGA CF

As the season comes to an end, Malaga fans will look back upon another decent season in the Spanish La Liga, with a mid-table finish destined for the club. However, the way that Malaga have been ending their season is really impressive. They have been bagging wins and scoring lots of goals and putting very determined performances overall of late. The Andalusian club will be hoping to extend their winning run against their last opponents, but grabbing points against a rampant Real Madrid side will be no easy task.

Sitting at 11th position of the Spanish La Liga table, the Albiceleste have accrued 46 points with 32 of those being earned at home matches, and cannot finish any higher. They have been in a very impressing form, as their current league record is 4-1-0. They have won their last four home games. Their last league game was an away draw at Real Sociedad by the score 2:2. This was preceded by a thumping 3-0 win against Celta Vigo at home. Such a formidable form must be giving their fans a lot of hope that they can get a result against Real Madrid.

They have been average in both attacking and defensive departments. The Andalusian club has scored only 49 goals in the Spanish La Liga this season, with 32 of those coming at home. Their defense also hasn’t really been very tight this season, with 53 goals conceded. They have managed to keep a clean sheet only on 8 occasions in the league.

Former Barcelona Forward Sandro Ramirez has been very good in front of the goal at his new club. He has scored 14 goals in the Spanish La Liga, and also laid out 3 assists for his teammates. Apart from him, Pablo Fornals has scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists. Juan Lopez is the player with the most assists in the team, with 4 assists in the league, along with 2 goals.

There are a number of injury concerns for the team. Kuzmanovic, Robson Weligton, Carlos Kameni and Juanpi Anor, are all injury doubts for the match as there will be a late check to decide on the fitness levels of these players. Bakary Kone has been out since February, and will only return next season.

REAL MADRID CF

With the Spanish La Liga title so close after a long wait of five years, Zidane surely cannot let his men let this trophy slip through their hands. The Los Blancos have been on top of the table as deserved leaders, because they have put in some absolutely wonderful performances, and have also managed to get points scraping through games. It is this combination that wins championship, and Real Madrid have been very efficient in winning it ugly and winning it beautiful. With the final match against Malaga, they will be confident of getting that 1 point to lift the Spanish La Liga trophy.

Sitting at the top of the table, they have amassed a massive 90 points, out of which 46 have been won at home, which shows that they have been strong be it on the road or at home. They are on a five match winning streak in the league, and will like to finish the league making it six. A week ago, they won at home against Sevilla by 4:1. Three days later, they repeated the feat with another 4:1 win away against Celta Vigo. Considering their form, there is no doubt that they can make it a hattrick of that scoreline.

They have been absolutely ruthless in attack, and more importantly, extremely consistent, as they have scored in all their matches in all competitions this season.  They have scored a massive 104 goals in the Spanish La Liga, with 56 of those coming at the road.  They haven’t been the best at defense, but they still have managed to keep out attacks for most of their matches this season. They have conceded 41 goals, with 21 of them being in away matches. They have managed to keep 9 clean sheets in the league.

Their Talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 24 goals in the Spanish La Liga, which is a bit less considering his abnormal standards. He has also managed to lay on 6 assists. After him, Young striker Alvaro Morata has been their top scorer, as he has managed to score 15 goals and provide 4 assists, which is truly remarkable keeping in mind that he has been largely restricted to a role on the bench. German Playmaker Toni Kroos has the most assists in the team with 12 to his name. He is second to only Luis Suarez in the league.

MALAGA CF vs. REAL MADRID CF – Match Prediction:

One must acknowledge the fact that Malaga has been really formidable at their home ground in recent matches. It will be no easy task for Zidane’s men to vanquish their opponents. However, Real Madrid has an absolutely wonderful group of players, and most importantly, almost anybody on their team can score goals. And even if their selected first 11 doesn’t perform, they always have the option of turning to their star studded bench, as they have incredible squad which has players almost certain to make an impact when given the chance to play. Therefore, an away win for Real Madrid should not come in question, but teams will give their best to score both. I am also expecting an over 4+ goals total!!!
