The No. 7 Texas A&M Aggies stunned the No. 2 North Carolina Tar Heels, 86-65, on Sunday, March 18, in the 2018 NCAA Tournament’s Round of 32. The Tar Heels failed to cover the six-point spread. The game went just over the total of 150.5.

Texas A&M narrowly defeated Providence in the tournament’s Round of 64 on Friday while the Tar Heels cruised against Lipscomb. Texas A&M advances to play Michigan, which shocked Houston with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer on Saturday night, in a seven-versus-three Sweet 16 matchup. Odds for that showdown will soon be released by BetDSI Sportsbook, but we anticipate Michigan will be favored. They will square off on Thursday night.

Texas A&M led by 14, 42-28, at the half, and built a 53-33 lead early in the second half. The Tar Heels couldn’t crack the Aggies’ double-digit lead.

Texas A&M had a balanced offensive attack. TJ Starks (21 points), Tyler Davis (18), DJ Hogg (14), and Admon Gilder (12) were all major factors. The Aggies shot well from outside, hitting 10 of their 24 three-point attempts. They won the rebound battle, 50-36.

The Tar Heels were given solid odds to win the tournament, with BetDSI pegging North Carolina at +2000 to cut down the nets in San Antonio. Texas A&M had much slimmer odds at +15000.
