The Villanova Wildcats never left a doubt as to who was the better team in a 95-79 rout of the Kansas Jayhawks in the second game of the Final Four. Villanova easily covered the 4.5-point spread that the oddsmakers had set, and the game went well over the total too. The victory made favorites 2-0 on the day.

Villanova will take on the Michigan Wolverines in the NCAA Tournament Championship Game following Michigan’s win over Loyola-Chicago earlier in the day. That game will take place on Monday, April 2, with tip-off set to happen at 9:20 p.m. ET. The oddsmakers at BetDSI have the Wildcats as a seven-point favorite with an over/under of 145.

Game Recap

The Wildcats were unstoppable from the floor all game long. Villanova’s starters all ended the game in double digits, and no one shot worse than 40 percent from the floor.

Eric Paschall was the star of the game for Nova. Paschall is usually considered an afterthought with the other talent present in the starting lineup, but he put up his best performance of the tournament. He finished the night 10-11 from the floor and led the team with 24 points.

Freshman Omari Spellman continued to shine as well. Spellman is likely to be one and done after turning it on over the last month of the season, and he finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds in the win against Kansas.

Kansas was just unable to keep up with Villanova’s offense. The Jayhawks didn’t make a lot of errors, and they didn’t shoot poorly from the field either. Like other teams, Kansas was simply unable to be score with the pace and efficiency of Nova.

Looking ahead

Coming into the NCAA Tournament, Villanova was the favorite to win its third title. The Wildcats were +400 at BetDSI, and they are just one win away from cashing. Michigan was one of the pre-tournament favorites as well with odds of +1000.
