Per the report, Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb was assessed a five-minute major for interference and given a game misconduct after a hit that left Anaheim Ducks center Ryan Poehling helped off the ice nearly midway through the first period of Game 5 Tuesday night.
The report says McNabb slammed into Poehling with his shoulder and the force of the impact drove the back of Poehling’s head into the glass. Poehling went to the ice, rose briefly but appeared wobbly and then fell again before being assisted to the locker room.
Per the report, the Ducks converted on the ensuing power play when rookie Beckett Sennecke scored off a rebound with 7:24 remaining in the period. The report says that goal extended Sennecke’s goal streak to four games.
The report notes that Poehling entered the game with four goals and an assist in 10 playoff games. McNabb was sent to the dressing room with the game misconduct following the major penalty.
The teams entered the matchup with the second-round series deadlocked at 2-2, the report says.
